Ireland international Simon Cox fired West Brom into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a
hat-trick against Cardiff this afternoon.
Cox headed his first home from eight yards after a cross from Baggies captain Nicky Shorey. He
doubled his tally in the 61st minute with a scorcher from 25 yards that gave Heaton no chance as it
crossed the line after rattling off his post, and he sealed his hat-trick with an easy tap in from
an Odemwingie pass.
Welcome to The Yorkies' regular off-season rumour roundup - "The Rumoumeter". Too busy to keep your

more than whispers; we take their temperature with.
Easy goal?
Only because Clint made another fantastic run. There were 20 other players on the pitch who
could've got themselves into the area there, but Dempsey again made the right moves at the right
time to get where he had to get.
I haven't got time to frame-by-frame this one, but look at the goal here.

Match report
So, our first league defeat since that trip to White Hart Lane at the start of October, and like
that day I don't think it was a game we really deserved to lose. Our encounters with Mancini's City
have been normally staid affairs due to their defensive approach but their more expansive style
this season meant it was an exciting, open game of football which suited both teams.
After 224 seconds into his Arsenal debut, Samir Nasri had already opened his Arsenal account with a
simple tap in from a pass from Denilson. One of the best talents ever to be discovered by Arsene
Wenger from France, Nasri was playing the football of his life. In his first season, he won over
the [..
We've done this thing before, how tap-ins are only tap-ins because someone had the nous to get
into the right position (e.g. Gera v Hamburg).
Note the following, then. Dempsey initially shapes towards the far post, then holds his ground
in the middle, possibly in expectation of a Murphy cross.
Liverpool beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge today with a fine solo run and shot by former Blue, Glen
Johnson went in on 87 mins.
The Reds opened the better and deservedly went ahead on 33mins with a Craig Bellamy pass to Maxi
Rodriguez who calmly scored the opening goal of the game.

Robin Van Persie becomes only the fifth player to score 30 goals in a calender year with this
tap-in v Norwich at Carrow Road.

Yes, I'll go ahead and say it. Jared Borgetti, eat your heart out. (Not really, it's still
pretty epic.)
Ryujiro Ueda of Fagiano Okayama earns the title with his bombing own-half header into the back
of the net, which he then celebrated like a tap-in on the goal line. Smooth.
Liverpool were a goal behind Stoke at the stroke of half time. Suarez busted the myth that he
missed more than he scores by almost single handedly bringing his team to the Carling Cup
quarterfinals.Words of praise from Daglish
"The wee man scored a fantastic goal. And the header for the second wasn't bad either.
The third round of the Europa League group stage is underway, and there are a handful of intriguing
matches on tap.
Udinese and Atletico Madrid are set to do battle in one of Thursday's top matches, while
Celtic's road game against Stade Rennes is another to keep an eye on. Several Americans could also
see the field today, including defenders Steve Cherundolo and Jonathan Spector.
With the final two matches of the MLS season on tap, Dave and Mark preview what RBNY has to do
to reach the playoffs. The SR boys also recap the USMNT's first appearance at Red Bull Arena, then

If you're in the USA and don't have a sports package including Fox Soccer Channel, you can still
get your 2011/12 English Premier League fix on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com this October. On tap on are
three of the early season's most-anticipated matches Everton vs. Liverpool, Liverpool vs.
Manchester United and Chelsea vs.
The US isn't exactly known for its soccer fans but with the World Cup last year viewership is on
the rise. Even though you may have a www.direct.tv satellite package that gets you all the games at
home you might want to venture out to one of the country's best soccer pubs if any are nearby. Here
are three of our favorites.

With the recent news that Keon Daniel has been called up for Trinidad and Tobago, who on the
Philadelphia Union might be worthy of being called up for the United States?
Since 2007, Daniel has an impressive 46 appearances and eight goals for his country.

After securing himself yet another 'dream move', Robbie Keane was unveiled by LA Galaxy
at the Home Depot Center yesterday during a ceremony that saw free Guinness provided on tap
(because he's Oirish, you see?) and David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Bruce Arena all turn out to
welcome the former Spurs striker to Lala Land.

Why Paddy McCourt is my Champ of the Week
My Champ of the Week: Paddy McCourtCeltic's Paddy McCourt stole the show at Windsor Park,
Belfast, on Wednesday night and scored two brilliant goals in a man-of-the-match display against
the Faroes. Paddy can be sensational with the ball at his feet although he only scores remarkable
goals and not simple tap-ins!
The Philadelphia Union battled back on two occasions from one-goal deficits to earn a valuable
point in a 2-2 draw against a strong FC Dallas side at PPL Park on Saturday night.
FC Dallas looked like a good bet to escape PPL Park with a win after taking leads on two
occasions, but each time the Union kept battling and earned penalties.
Since the surprise announcement of the US Soccer Federation discarding men's national team manager
Bob Bradley, all the jockeying between exotic names and big resumés -- on tap since at least 2006
-- bubbled back to the surface. But, with the 'Dear Santa' lists of big names becoming cliché, I
thought I'd try a slightly different angle.
In Sunday's preseason friendly between Manchester City and LA Galaxy, with City in the lead 1-0,
star striker Mario Balotelli was one-on-one with the goalkeeper. All that was needed was a simple
tap-in and it would have been 2-0 to the Premier...

It is getting close to all-out war in Birmingham between bitter-rivals Aston Villa and
Birmingham City.
The source of the tension between the two clubs is Alex McLeish is shocked City by resigning on
Sunday. Birmingham say that McLeish was tapped up by Villa and that is why he resigned.

Thai Port extended their fine run with a fifth straight win over newly promoted Khon Kaen at the
PAT Stadium this afternoon. The game ended 3-0, two goals were disallowed, one probably because the
linesman was swatting at a fly with the flag by mistake, and but for carelessness up front getting
caught offside too often it could have been a lot more.
The Republic of Ireland beat Italy 2-0 in Belgium to-night to cap a great week
for the Irish as Simon Cox scored the Republic's second goal with a simple tap-in, after great work
from Stephen Hunt who also assisted Keith Andrews goal via a set-piece.

There are two High School games on tap tonight. At Harrison Stadium, the Central Bulldogs will host
Camdenton in a Varsity-only match on Senior Night.
Further East, the Glendale Falcons will host Springfield Catholic in another Varsity-only match
that will determine bragging rights for the season.

Fabio Borini has aimed a dig at Chelsea after joining Swansea on loan until the end of the season.
Borini scored twice in his debut against Forest and came on as a sub for Italy U21's against Sweden
and played a part in their third goal with Parma's Director of football sitting in the stands.
When Borini was asked if he knew he was there he said:
"I did not know he was there, but I do know there's interest in Parma for
me.
We were at 9,544 before the first competitive game of the season. With Open Cup qualifying and
another CCL game on tap, it seems like a good time to update.
The CCL games involving Columbus and Real Salt Lake meant another 7 were scored (
RSL 4:1 CLB in the second leg, and RSL 2:0 Saprissa).
This seaon has been the best chance for Arsenal to win the Premier League Title for a couple of
years. Behind Man United and Chelsea, Arsenal and consistently been the team to have chased and
fallen near the end to the third spot. This is an achievement in itself when so many have
predicted the downfall of Arsenal and their removal from title contendership.
The Champions League quarterfinal draw is on tap for tomorrow in Nyon. Who do we like then?
Balls.
A lot has been said about our potential opposition in the last eight.
Of course, the idea of Barcelona revisiting Stamford Bridge has been branded about with reckless
abandon since our place in the draw was secured last night with a goalless draw with
Copenhagen.
The FIFA Executive Committee just finished a two-day meeting in Zurich, Switzerland, and announced

Is Dani Alves slightly undervalued?
Barcelona is a system. The team is an organic, constantly shifting, free in motion, confusing and
befuddling many teams which face them. Yet looking at the side which defeated Athletic Bilbao 2-1,
I realized something I had never before. Throughout the entire match, although Bilbao were doing
their best to cope with Barcelona's tight passing, they were truly unable to cope with Dani Alves.
