Fighting Talker 24 February @ 11:39 AM EDT
As rare as it is for me to say something nice about the USSF-2D/NASL/USL/A-League/USISL and its various media and internet cronies, I must admit that I love the half-throwback/half-modern shirts that Tampa Bay introduced yesterday. Great colors and they've kept the throwback elements subtle while keeping an overall modern look. Click to continue reading...

FC New York: What Happened?

Major League Soccer Talk 02 December @ 12:27 PM EDT

Before I start, I will say. Yes, there is a chance that they're working quietly behind the scenes to get everything sorted out, and that come April 2010 we may all look back and say "Why'd I ever doubt them?", but it really doesn't look that way at the moment.

When it was announced FCNY was treated as a big deal, MLS wasn't in New York City proper, so it was treated as if it were the largest untapped market in the country.

Breakaway from USL doesn't look so dumb... so far.

Fighting Talker 10 November @ 11:38 AM EDT
I've always said that one of the realistic options for the disaffected USL owners was to leave and then just setup their own league away from the USL umbrella. Today, that appears to be what has happened, with everyone bailing on Francisco Marcos and the USL. I have not been following this all that closely, but where does this leave Portland, who has one more year to go before they join MLS. Click to continue reading...

Chelsea Can Go Back To The Office…

Because with live in a world of litigation and because people get all bent out of shape over the smallest things (that could easily be explained) and because litigation takes forever and lawyers are expensive (otherwise they wouldn't bother to take forever) and because you can get any kind of suspension lifted while you're waiting for an appeal it appears that Chelsea can do business as usual since the Court of Arbitration for Sport won't be able to set a date for a hearing until February.
