As you may or may not know, 128-year old Blue Square Premier side Darlington FC have had to sack
their management team and playing staff and are teetering on the verge of extinction after going
into administration for the third time in less than a decade largely thanks to the utterly
ridiculous £20-million, 25,000-seater 'Darlington Arena' stadium that former chairman and
tax-dodger George Reynolds paid through the nose for a few years previous.
Liverpool has decided to proceed with their original, nine-year-old stadium plans once they have
secured the finance to start construction.
That means the alternative, futuristic stadium designs proposed by former owners Tom Hicks and
George Gillett Jnr have been ditched for good.
It also ensures there will be no fresh planning application required by the current American owners
to restart construction once a lucrative naming rights package is in place.
QPR have sacked manager Neil Warnock and his backroom staff have also left the club. Malaysian
owner Tony Fernandes released this statement:
"This decision has been made in the best interests of the Club and I can assure everyone that this
is not a decision that was made lightly."
"Sadly, our recent run of poor form has seen us slip alarmingly down the table and the Board
felt it was the right time to make a change.
Luis Suarez sweating on Patrice Evra race row verdict
Of all the issues John W Henry has encountered in English football since mounting a £300million
takeover of Liverpool, none has been quite so thorny as the allegation currently levelled at Luis
Suarez.

Borussia Dortmund and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is back in the frame again with Liverpool
his most likely destination. Liverpool have been linked with many strikers with the transfer period
looming on the horizon as Dalglish looks to conquer his attacking headaches.
Liverpool haven't been clinical enough in front of goal this campaign notching up 18 goals in 15
Premier League games.
As soon as the QPR takeover was announced in the summer, a host of Spurs players were linked
with a move to West London. Ultimately, none of these transfers materialised but it's inevitable to
see further stories emerge as the January transfer window approaches.
Spurs fans will be no stranger to Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent Oleg Artemov who has been very
vocal about his client's next move in recent weeks.
In this summer's transfer window two teams dominated the headlines but for two very different
reasons. Manchester City and their high spending was nothing new since the 2008 Abu Dhabi Group
takeover, but the Arsenal saga was very new. The ...

Reports linking Liverpool with a shock move for Barcelona striker David Villa have been rubbished
by SkySports' Spanish correspondent Guillem Balague, who took to his website to comment on the
speculation.
According to Valencia-based paper Superdeporte, the 29-year-old Spaniard is unhappy at the Camp Nou
because of the problems he is having playing alongside Lionel Messi.
Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has resigned as the manager of Stockport County after
just 4 months in charge.
Hamann, who only recently spoke on LFC TV about how well things were going at Edgeley Park, made
the following statement after his resignation:
"Following a meeting this morning between Lord Snape and myself I have tendered my resignation as
manager of Stockport County.
Twit-twoo for the Owls Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric has rejected suggestions he is
on the verge of selling the club to a former Playboy model. It had been reported that former model
and actress Sybil Danning and her husband Horst Lasse were preparing a takeover. Danning told The
Sun: "We have been looking into [.
John Henry admits he was won round by Kenny Dalglish after initially wanting to appoint a younger
manager in the Liverpool FC hotseat.
Saturday marked the anniversary of Fenway Sports Group's protracted £300million LFC takeover that
banished Tom Hicks and George Gillett from the club.
One of Henry's first decisions as principal owner was to install Dalglish in place of deposed
manager Roy Hodgson on a temporary basis in January until the end of last season.

Liverpool owner John W Henry concedes he may have overspent on some players, but believes it was
important to put down a marker.
Since completing a takeover at Anfield in October 2010, the Fenway Sports Group has pumped
£110.5million into the pursuit of fresh faces.
The likes of Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing have been snapped up
for big money, with the Reds aware of the need to spend in order to compete.
John Henry and Tom Werner dominated the spotlight a year ago but there was another member of Fenway
Sports Group who was key to their takeover of Liverpool FC.
Joe Januszewski, the senior vice president of Corporate Sales and Fenway Enterprises, is also one
of Boston's most passionate Reds fans.
Henry knew little about Reds
Liverpool owner John W Henry admits he knew 'virtually nothing' about the club or English
football before completing a takeover in 2010.

Something may or may not be going on at Eastwood Town Football Club but it's increasingly
difficult to make any sense of the situation.
To quote Donald Rumsfeld:
"There are known knowns; there are things we know we know.
"We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not
know.
Why football's Rich List proves David Moyes is worth his weight in gold
There are some who question the credit that gets paid to David Moyes, who argue that he actually
achieves nothing. But when you look at the financial facts, at the reality of a man punching miles
above his weight despite having both arms tied behind his back, you see why every club looking for
a new manager should turn their gaze to Goodison Park.
In my previous blog "The Lesser of Two Evils" many people commented that Mike Ashley has no
commitment to NUFC and will sell up as soon as he gets the right offer. The question that has to be
asked then, is, "How attractive is Newcastle United for a takeover?" If you imagine yourself as a

Yesterday in Plymouth, shortly before noon, the BBC 'understood' that, Peter Ridsdale "is to
step down from involvement with Plymouth Argyle." I smiled. The statement seemed to explain an odd
occurrence earlier that morning. A Plymouth article on the BBC website at half-past-nine referenced
a Ridsdale interview for today's BBC 'Football Focus' programme in which he said the takeover would
be complete by October 10th.

The Era of Good Feeling at QPR
- From Thursday Tweet by The Times' Oliver Kay "Been to see people at QPR today.
"Chelsea should have won more trophies with their squad because the quality is there. The
ambition was there and you can see what the club has spent on players."
-Michael Ballack in today's The Times
Is he right?
All the above points are fair ones from the former Chelsea midfielder.
Regular readers of this site will be all too aware of the recent problems that have beset
Plymouth Argyle Football Club. Plymouth's supporters, in conjunction with whose of Brighton & Hove
Albion, are now planning a protest on the twenty-fourth of September to which supporters of all
clubs will be welcome.
Sometimes, help can come from the most unexpected of sources. Last Friday, it was announced to a
mixture of joy and relief probably more of the latter than the former, considering the shenanigans
of the last few months that Plymouth Argyle Football Club had been saved. After repeated broken
deadlines and wage deferrals for the longest-suffering staff in British football, we were told in
an official statement that, "Bishop International Limited has secured the necessary funding and
everything is agreed between the numerous parties" in order to complete the sale of the club and
its ground to the Gibraltar-based company, who would take ownership of its Home Park ground and
bring in Peter Ridsdale as the Chief Executive of the club.
Liverpool owner John W Henry is baffled by criticism of the club's summer spending spree and
believes critics have been hypocritical.
Since taking over the club in October 2010, Henry has sanctioned big-money signings such as Andy
Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing for a combined figure in the region of £71million.
The takeover at QPR could be good news for Spurs fans looking to trim the deadwood from the
squad before the transfer window closes in just seven days' time.
From the first two games of our season, it seems apparent that Peter Crouch is the odd striker
out and having not featured thus far, it's suggested that Harry is just waiting to seal the
Adebayor deal before letting Crouch go.
Neil Warnock remains hopeful of bringing in Joe Cole on loan from Liverpool after a fresh injection
of cash at QPR.
Tony Fernandes' takeover at Loftus Road last week has given Warnock extra money to spend in the
transfer window, and the Rangers boss can now afford to pay a greater portion of Cole's wages.
Queens Park Rangers have confirmed the successful takeover of Malaysian business tycoon Tony
Fernandes.

Arsene Wenger is set to sign 16 year old Jose Rodriguez of Real Madrid. The midfielder at such a
tender age shows a complete array of skills that makes him a natural number 4. He became the MVP of
the U17 Club World Cup after displays like the one he had against Schalke (above) and Barca.
The mainstream football media are convinced that there is a ‘new Mourinho' at Chelsea.
Although I'm inclined to agree, I'm not entirely sure who this ‘new Mourinho' actually is.
Of course, to even ask who this ‘new Mourinho' is implies a form, a Mourinho, from whom to
begin. José Mourinho was a Chelsea manager, young, Portuguese, poached from Porto after a
blistering season domestically and in Europe, who was expected to grasp a small but ambitious club
by the horns and haul it that final step which it couldn't take under its previous (Italian)
coach.
