La tarde noche de hoy América dejó ir el triunfo cuando empató a un gol en su visita a los Tigres, en el estadio Universitario, en la fecha 7 del Torneo de Liga Apertura 2009, con ello se cortó la racha de triunfos que se quedó en 4.

El empate le sirve aún para mantenerse como líder general, cuando menos hasta el día de mañana, pues hay dos equipos que podrían desbancarlo de la posición de honor, Toluca y Morelia, que se enfrentan entre sí, si hay ganador, el mismo será el nuevo superlíder, pero si hay empate el líder general seguiría siendo el América.
