Dirty Tackle 18 November @ 03:31 AM EST
Another day, another head shot. This really is the final straw for American girls soccer,
though. I mean, the hair pulling and dirty tackles are one thing, but to take aim and obliterate an
opponent's face like this on a free kick is just way over the line. And totally hilarious.
After the jump, a special bonus DTotD.

Yes, that is a serious question. Two players who 'offer more than just goals' as strikers. But
how much more? Who would you rather have? Fortunately a member of the Football365 Forum (lol tb x)
has done the analysis for us. Read on to see who comes out on top...
A comparison of their goals and assists since Tevez came here:
This is obviously an area where Tevez should win by a margin having played with some of the best
players in the world.

Think violent women's football and you think Elizabeth Lambert, but there is so much more to it
than just one crazed lady. See below a plethora of hideous tackles and even a fair few head butts
as well as people being put into neck braces. Enjoy (maybe not the word we should use but hey ho).
Thanks to Dirty Tackle for the heads up on this one.

Last Saturday's derby between Hamilton and Motherwell produced a few DTotD worthy tackles and
some fine goals, too. Our interest in the game, however, is when Hamilton's overly excited manager,
Billy Reid, celebrates his side's second goal (both scored a man down) by jumping up and grabbing
the advertisement board above the dugout, which he rips off, causing him to fall on his ass (4:28
into the video).

Ljungberg was the target of some tough tackles. Playing in a dust bowl also did not help. He was
not happy.
"The game was a big brawl, it was not much of a football game," Ljungberg said. "I don't
want to be a bad loser. I congratulate them and I wish them all the best, but it was mostly a big
brawl and probably the pitch didn't make it any easier.

This was one of those Premier League matches that had a draw written all over it that was crying
out for just one decent attempt to puncture the dull game. And it finally came three-quarters into
the match where John Terry headed the ball into the corner of the net.
Yet again, Sir Alex Ferguson put out a defensive minded team that played very cautiously with
Wayne Rooney often up front on his own.

Thought some of the tackles made by male defenders were rough and nasty? Here is a video of New
Mexico defender Elizabeth Lambert, who yanked BYU Cougars Kassidy Shumwa to the ground by pulling
her ponytail. It took place in a Mountain West Conference Semifinal which was won by the Cougars
1-0. That is not the [.

Sao Paulo managed to hold on to a 1-1 draw against Gremio on Wednesday despite having three
players get sent off in the final 15 minutes. Of the three tackles that earned early dismissals, I
think the butt kick/head slap combo (15 seconds in) would have to be the most original.
But if you want to see something that will make the above video look like bingo night at the old
folks home, check out this clip of the MMA battle between the BYU and New Mexico women's teams.

It looks like we have shut the Spuds up for another few months then with a performance that left
even the most hardy Spurs fans noting that they had some way to go to catch up with us.
I had a very good feeling before the game, a feeling I hadn't had since that 5-1 beating we
took. Maybe it was confidence or just a sign of what was to come, whatever it was I liked it and
enjoyed every second of this North London Derby.

by JAMES CURTIS The rage in Cesc Fabregas' eyes was uncontrollable as he raced to one corner of
the Emirates, executed a mini knee-slide and bounced back up with clenched fists to celebrate
Arsenal's second goal. Just one minute earlier Robin van Persie had circled the same section with
his arms flung out and chest pumping having opened the scoring.

Just as last Tuesday, this was a game that Liverpool had to win but, contrary to the game against
Lyon, they put in a performance that irrespective of the result was an excellent one. That
Liverpool did win is a great bonus but in reality seeing the team respond in this manner was almost
enough.
Of course, there will be those who will claim that Jamie Carragher should have been sent off,
particularly because of his foul on Michael Owen.

Hello Gooners. West Ham 2 Arsenal 2 it finished. Excuse the rage I'm feeling right now but I'll
try not to be downright acidic in my assessment in London Derby Number 2 against the Hammers.
Complacency, CarltonCole and Choking. 3 C's I said we needed to be wary of against the
Hammers.

Yet another advert hot off the Nike production line and this one has Cesc Fabregas
advertising the new CTR360 Maestri boots.
It's genius in my opinion as it shows Cesc being the midfield maestro that he is, but in a Bond
Villain-esque way. The boots are apparently not bad either as my captain (and centre half) has said
that he's tempted to get rid of all his shoes and just wear these boots, as they are the most
comfortable shoes he's had.

All of days ago we were treated to a trailer of Fahrenheit 2010, the documentary which takes a
look at the devious desires behind FIFA's insistence on a World Cup in South Africa. Not quite sure
it'll have the clout to do any damage (read: bribes), but it shines more light on an already
illuminated subject.

45 minutes in and we're leading this one 1-0! Blanco scored a penalty (certainly the correct
call) to put us up and we now are in a great position and the win is definately possible.
Conditions are terrible in Minsk. It is extremely cold (near zero degrees celcius) and the pitch
is extremely wet.

Dynamo, it's time to test your mettle. Your final two regular season opponents have also
clinched invitations to the postseason. So, knowing that win or lose you'll still be in the dance,
does that alter your mindset? Will you be reserved to rest or do you push for custody of the
coveted home-field advantage?

Wayne Rooney says that he has worked to improve his grip on his temper so that he can avoid
missing matches because of suspension.
Rooney has picked up two yellow cards for United so far this season, but hasn't been booked in
any of the eight World Cup qualifying games for England.
"There is a balance that you need to get right because if you go over the top, you will miss
a lot of games through suspension," said Rooney.

Rangers were really out for blood (and crotches) in last weekend's Old Firm derby, as evidenced
by these two dirty tackles. Neither resulted in a booking, though Lafferty's crotch kick on Celtic
new boy Zheng Zhi was a particularly awful way to welcome someone into the league in his very first
match.

Jeff Baker at New University wrote an interesting article today about David

Reading some of this shit just makes my brain explode. How on Earth is Ken Bates Leeds'

if Leeds were actually owned by Harry Potter, or those fucking dogs playing cards in that
picture.

I thought I'd do another 20 points match review, so that it is easier to follow.
1. Criticized by many lately, including me, I think Clichy had his most solid game yet. He
looked focused and was rarely beaten today.
2. If anything, most of Olympiakos' threat was on the right flank where Eboue was playing at
right back.

I like Denilson as a player and despite what people said about him last season, I defended him.
Statistics supported my cause but then again stats are like marmite, you either love them or you
hate them.
Denilson has been missing from the first XIÂ now since he was subbed at Eastlands.

Slowly, slowly Wenger is recovering his players. Rosicky came back and has played some football
for us with no set-backs. Carlos Vela appeared and scored mid-week, so this give Arsene more
choices up-front. Wenger has announced that both Walcott and Arshavin are back and though both
may not play this week-end, the squad is looking stronger every week.

Despite the Premier League's reputation for being the most exciting league in the world matches
like Sunday's Manchester derby don't come around too often.
I am supporter of neither team but I couldn't help but be caught up in the breathless drama of it
all. Local tussles such as this can often degenerate into passionate but scrappy affairs, with the
fear of defeating leading to a drab draw.

Cristiano Ronaldo entered the Real Madrid record books last night, becoming the first player to
score a goal in each of the four opening fixtures in La Liga, and what a goal it was. In just the
2nd minute of the game, Ronaldo received the ball on the half way line, his first touch being a
flick to cut inside, and then he proceeded to sprint down the pitch, evading the tackles from 2 or
3 Villarreal defenders, before shooting low and hard into the corner of the net from just outside
the 18 yard box.
