There was a single moment of 2011 that has managed to stay in the back of my mind for months. It is
a moment that few would care to remember but I believe it is one of importance. Early in the season
there was an ill-fated tackle from a scrambling Brian Mullan that ended the season of Seatlle's
Steve Zakuani.
It's half-time in the Merseyside derby, and once again the outcome of the match has been given
an almighty helping-hand by the match officials, in this case one Martin Atkinson. In case you have
missed this particular incident, Mr Atkinson decided that Jack Rodwell's tough, but legitimate
challenge, was worthy of a straight red card.
Alessandro Nesta and The Classiest Moment at the Camp Nou last night
35 years old. 78 caps for Italy. 19 years of club football calcio in Italy. For Milan fans, for
Italians across the world, Alessandro Nesta is a man that makes you proud to be associated with him
in any way, shape, or form.
Armand Masimzhanov, who played for Kairat, has been banned for life by the Federation of football
of Kazakhstan for this flying assault on Lokomotiv's Radmir Muksinov last month:
The Seattle Sounders might have defeated defending MLS Cup Champions, Colorado Rapids, in Commerce
City, Colorado last night, but it's clear the victory feels somewhat hollow to the Sounders and
their fans since one of their young stars, Steve Zakuani, will most likely be out the rest of the
season after breaking his fibula and tibia.
Following Carragher's tackle on Nani in the match between Liverpool and Man U, Ferguson
complained non stop, believing the tackle deserved red and that his team had been
wronged.(....Diddums). Again that week, Fergie made known his feelings about JC and the injury
inflicted on Nani, with no mention about the tackle by Rafael moments later - also deserving red -
and the fact that Nani was back to full training after just 1 week, despite claims that he was
going to be unavailable for a month.
