Everton Boss David Moyes has praised the maturity of Ireland U21 International Shane Duffy after
his home Premier League debut at Goodison Park yesterday against Blackburn.
Speaking after the 1-1 draw Moyes said "Shane Duffy had a terrific game. He was arguably our best
player today and he's a young boy; we just needed a lot more in every department.
Didier Drogba, Gary Cahill, Andrei Arshavin and Andy Johnson headline the list of Premier
League stars who are out of contract at the end of the season according to Goal.com, and could be
available on a free transfer this summer.
You could put together a pretty competitive side from this list.
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was the villain in the eyes of Everton fans after he was involved in
the sending-off of Jack Rodwell before scoring the second goal in a controversial 216th Merseyside
derby victory.
The Uruguay international was berated as a cheat by the majority of Goodison Park - and appeared to
have a coin thrown at him - after making the most of Rodwell's sliding tackle midway through the
first half.
Everton defender and one-time Liverpool target Sylvain Distin has called Luis Suarez a 'great
player with great quality', and compared him favourably to Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
Both are exciting players, but if you had to choose between the two, who would you have?Distin
said:"Luis seems to be a great player, an amazing player with great quality who can score goals,
but he won't
Everton Shouldn't Panic Yet - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
We're told some Everton fans are desperate. In fact, we're told it's not just Everton fans, but
their Chairman too. Bill Kenright admitted as much to a supporters group, to discuss their
problems. Everton have exhausted their overdraft and the banks, probably sensibly, don't see any
reason to extend it.
What makes a great defender for your fantasy soccer team? He of course has to play in a winning
team. He of course has to play often and whole games. If he scores a goal or gives an assist now
and then that is a big plus. Of course we wouldnt mind if his price wouldnt be too much either.
So who are these denfenders.
Everton defender Sylvain Distin has dismissed speculation concerning teammate Phil Jagielka,
insisting that no move away from Goodison Park is imminent. Jagielka has recently been linked with
a move to Premier League giants Arsenal, but Distin is confident that his fellow center back is
happy in Liverpool.
This excellent Leon Osman goal vs Man City gave Everton a 2-1 win over the Citizens in the Premier
League game between the two sides on May 7, 2011. The Osman goal against Man City was the winner
after Yaya Toure and Sylvain Distin had exchanged goals. Everton coach David Moyes likened Osman to
Toffees [.
Everton vs Man City 2-1 7 May, 2011- Goodison Park, Liverpool Final score:- Everton vs Man City 2-1
( Sylvain Distin, Leon Osman/ Yaya Toure) Everton deliver to a blow to Man City's hopes for
European football next season by snatching a 2-1 comeback win. A great header from Leon Osman from
Phil Neville's cross [.
A late header from Javier Hernández broke the resistance of Everton and sent Manchester United
nine points clear at the top of the Premier League, for a few hours at least.
United were frustrated for long periods by a combination of saves from Tim Howard, and a defence
ably marshalled by Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka.
The Gunners battled back from a controversial goal, and exploited two defensive assignment
miscues to scrape out a 2-1 victory against visiting Everton.

ARSENAL START FORM: In the absence of injured winger Samir Nasri, Arsene Wenger gave Tomas
Rosicky a rare start on the left wing.

Last Meeting: Everton 1 Arsenal 2 (November 14, 2010)
Arsenal right back into the fray tomorrow as we play Everton in what promises to be a very
important league match.
With Spurs reportedly getting a £4m windfall if Darren Bent joins up with Aston Villa, we'll
have some change left out of the Steven Pienaar deal to go spending! Perhaps more importantly, the
Bent deal, if it goes through, should kick start this transfer window and see it move from rumours
to action.
It was not an entirely happy homecoming for Kenny Dalglish on his first match at Anfield since
becoming Liverpool manager for the second time but a draw in an entertaining 215th Merseyside derby
represented some progress.
The club's legendary former player went into the game on the back of successive defeats to
Manchester United and Blackpool but the result against their closest rivals at least ensured his
first point.
Even though full-back Rafael was sent off but 10-man Manchester United still kept their unbeaten
record as they went back to the top of the Barclays Premier League on goal difference after a 0-0
draw against Spurs.
Wayne Rooney brought a couple of smart saves from Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes and Rafael
van der Vaart also went close on two occasions for Tottenham.
LONDON, England – Ten-man Manchester United returned to the top of the Premier League Sunday
after holding Tottenham to a 0-0 draw in a match that failed to live up to expectations. United's
hard-earned point saw them reclaim top spot from Manchester City on goal difference, although Sir
Alex Ferguson's unbeaten side have two games [.
Goals from Meireles and Kuyt aren't enough as the points are shared.
For the first 45 minutes, the script seemed to be playing out almost exactly as planned. Kenny
Dalglish back on the Anfield touchline facing Everton in the derby, and Liverpool playing positive,
pressing, attractive football.
Kenny Dalglish's slow start as Liverpool manager continued today at Anfield after his Reds could
only muster a 2-2 draw against cross-town rivals Everton. After leading 1-0 at halftime, it took a
Dirk Kuyt penalty to equalize for the hosts following an early second half goal frenzy from
Everton.
Sylvain Distin scored for the visitors off a corner kick just forty seconds into the second
half, cancelling out Raul Meireles' opener.
