The Swiss Super League, you say? Well, yes. This could certainly persuade us to spend more time
with our friends in Switzerland. Image: REUTERS/Romina Amato.
Or doesn't turn, rather.
This club is something else, and it's all down to Bulat Chagaev, Chechen rebel hell bent on
destroying tiny little football clubs from quaint Swiss cities. Despite showing up appearing as
though he had bags of cash, and making some signings indicating money was on the way, it's been
nothing but a complete trainwreck: a disaster while everyone rubbernecks from beyond the scene.
Liverpool have entered the race to sign Switzerland youngster Fabian Frei, but face competition
from a host of European clubs such as Juventus and Schalke as interest intensifies.
Considered by many pundits as a hot prospect, Frei has established himself as full international
since his step up from the Under-21 squad in the summer and remains an integral part of Basel's
squad though Swiss media are suggesting that his seven year stay at the Swiss Super League
champions could be coming to an end if the interest from Liverpool is genuine which its believed
is.
We live in strange times. On the one hand, being poor sucks. Every Bulgarian champion needs a
helping hand and a TV payout from UEFA helps, no matter how small. On the other hand, nobody likes
Kool-Aid with too much water. Dilution concerns us. Tang leaves a bitter and putrid taste in the
mouth.
Per the offal:
Fulham Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Pajtim Kasami on a 4 year deal for
an undisclosed fee which will see the player at Fulham until the summer of 2015.
At 6′ 1″ (erm sorry, 1.87 m), Kasami is our second-tallest midfielder behind Dickson
Etuhu, and only behind Hangeland, Etuhu and Senderos as far as outfield players go.
There is something almost Riefenstahlian about the official site's daily descriptions of the
squad's pre-season fitness regime; the luxuriating in the mundane minutiae of each training drill
and the fetishistic depictions of lythe young bodies in the throws of physical exertion. So it is
we learn that it was a mixture of work and play for West Ham United's players as the squad
continued their pre-season training camp in Switzerland.

Granit Xhaka

Granit Xhaka's mother was confident, but not even she could expect to be proven right so
quickly. "Granit will play for Switzerland in the future," she told the Swiss media back in
2009.
Reported Liverpool target Xherdan Shaqiri is closing in on a move to Juventus, it has been
claimed.
According to talkSPORT, the Italian giants have already met with FC Basle in order to discuss a
deal for the 19-year-old winger, who could be set to move to Turin in the summer.
Liverpool have frequently been linked with a swoop for the teenager, who continues to impress with
his skilful displays in the Swiss Super League - but it appears the Reds will now have their work
cut out if they hope to bring him to Anfield.
Liverpool reportedly face competition from Aston Villa to sign Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Swiss international winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Barclays Premier League
in the past, with Liverpool thought to be considering a bid for the player in the summer.
Former Anfield chief Roy Hodgson is thought to have taken an interest in the player first, and
FootyLatest now reports that Kenny Dalglish is also interested in bringing the player to Liverpool.
The big leagues are nice and all, and the 40% that is the winter transfer market will somewhat
suffice, but sometimes we just need our Bundesliga (German or Austrian), the Norwegian Tippeligaen
or the many Super Leagues which, let's be honest, aren't really all that super.
Some have already launched (England, Spain, Italy, Scotland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Israel,
etc.
