In a single NCAA Men's D1 soccer tournament match, two Minnesotan's were eliminated and two others
advanced in this years contest. Eric Miller and Brent Kallman, both Woodbury, Minn. natives and
both members of the Creighton Bluejays will advance to next weekends Sweet 16 round of play after
blanking Northern Illinois 2-0 on Sunday.
Well Vasco is back. I have been away for awhile, health issues. Well the MLS season is over and the
best team money can buy in MLS won the whole darn thing. The Cup and the shield, congrats to Bruce
and the gang on their victory.
Lets recap some of the 2011 season. We saw two new MLS teams, that came up from USL, Portland which
started slow and came on strong, and almost made the playoffs, and Vancouver that came on weak, and
got worse.
Steve Fisher has turned San Diego State into a basketball school. On Sunday night, the school
rewarded their head coach by giving him a four-year contract extension. The new contract will have
Steve Fisher working San Diego State's sidelines until he is 70 years old.
Last season, Steve Fisher and San Diego State went 34-3.
Texas appeared headed to the Sweet 16. Then Derrick Williams, who had struggled the whole game,
lifted Arizona to victory with a three-point play. Trailing 69-67 with less than ten seconds
remaining, Derrick Williams hit an acrobatic shot as he was fouled. His free throw gave Arizona a
one-point lead.
