Glen Johnson's two-footed lunge near the end last night's victory again Manchester City has
provoked the ire of Roberto Mancini, and I can totally understand why. I agree with Mancini - it
was arguably worse than Vincent Kompany's tackle against Man United but, as per usual, Liverpool
fans, players and management will never admit it.
It's an understatement to suggest that Andy Carroll has strugged at Liverpool. In his last sixteen
appearances, the former Newcastle striker has scored only two goals, and he's clearly having
problems adapting to Liverpool's style of play. However, Anfield legend Steve Nicol believes that
there is another reason for Carroll's underwhelming performances.
Liverpool left-backs from past and present come face to face at Craven Cottage tonight, and whilst
John Arne Riise and Jose Enrique are both excellent players in their own right, who would you
choose at left back for Liverpool if you had to make a choice?
Enrique has been a success story at Anfield so far this season; unlike others, he settled in five
minutes after starting his first game for the club, and he's produced high quality performances
ever since.
It's no secret that Liverpool have struggled to score goals this season, and despite the talents of
Luis Suarez, the club still (arguably) lacks a 'fox in the box' goal-poacher; a Robbie Fowler-type
player with a knack for scoring goals regularly. One player constantly linked with Liverpool is
Jermain Defoe, but club legends Ray Houghton and Gary Gillespie insist that he is not the player
Liverpool need.
Craig Bellamy is the latest in a long line of great attacking players to strut their stuff at
Anfield, and since returning to the club, the Welsh international has played an integral role in
helping Liverpool' rediscover its 'pass and move' footballing philosophy. Fellow Welshman Ian Rush
is arguably Liverpool's greatest ever striker, but Bellamy has a slightly different view on Rush's
ability.
Liverpool have struggled against the so-called 'smaller' teams in recent seasons, and as we' saw
with Swansea and Norwich recently, the league's newly promoted teams seem to be a particular
problem these days. Former Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage has his own
theory about why Liverpool have underperformed against the lesser teams.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry over the news that MLS sent out surveys looking for
information on the strength of Baltimore as an MLS market. On the surface, which is the way 99.9%
of the interested parties are viewing it, it looks like a clear sign that United is not long for
DC.
Steven Gerrard is in the final stages of his football career, and in the last couple of years, he's
increasingly picked up niggling injuries that have kept him on the sidelines. Is it time for
Gerrard to start thinking about retiring from International football so that he can prolong his
Liverpool career?
In his press conference earlier today, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish once again displayed his
irritation with questions over Andy Carroll, and (unfairly) berated a journalist for asking a
perfectly valid question about the striker.
The journalist asked the following question:
"We know Luis Suarez will take the headlines on for Wednesday, but Andy had a really good game.
Fernando Torres left Anfield under a cloud, but there's no denying that (for the most part) he was
an absolutely outstanding striker for Liverpool. Luis Suarez has also been excellent for the club,
but if you had to choose between the two, who would you play unfront for Liverpool?
A key difference between Suarez and Torres is finishing ability.
Kenny Dalglish plans to put out the 'strongest team' available to him against Rangers tonight.
Given the fact that game is a friendly (in name only), and injuries to key players could prove
costly, is this the right strategy?
Speaking about tonight's game, Kenny confirmed:
"It's not like we're going to be allowed to go up there to take it nice and easy casual.
As we all know a survey is always subjective & open to many interpretations. However, surveys if
done well can give insight, reveal tendencies & capture a trend that could be interesting to bear
in mind. Spanish Sports daily "AS" has contracted the firm "IKERFEL" to survey Spanish Football
spectators in all 20 First Division Stadiums.

Liverpool FC Director of Football Damien Commoli has claimed that the current squad is "complete",
to the extent that there are no areas under review for improvement. Do you agree with this
assessment?
Comolli said: "We are very pleased with what we've done during this window and the previous one as
well.

I'll give you mind games.
Wrapped in cotton wool by an over protectitive government and left shaking in fear of their

I recently completed a season ticket holder survey for the Philadelphia Union through a link I
received via email. I had participated in all of the previous surveys I had received, believing
that it is important to provide the Union with feedback from customers.
I had assumed, perhaps naively, that these surveys were blinded, i.

How are you feeling better how do you take responsibility today if you're a player like Morgan
Gamst Pedersen. The frosty-tipped Norwegian has been at Blackburn's Elwood Park since 2004. He
recently 2010 re-upped for four more.
Yet, if a confluence of circumstances shake out a certain today, Pederson could see his life in
Lancashire turned upside down.
