Conmebol's Copa America is the oldest international continental tournament in soccer, and 2016
will mark its 100th birthday.
That could also be the year that many American soccer fans have a dream come true.
According to Mexican outlet mediotiempo.
Still no left back, but the slight defensive midfield depth issue has been addressed with the
signing of Brazilian journeyman Marcelo Saragosa. Given that Kitchen will surely miss time for
Olympic qualifiers (and the big show in London if we qualify) and isn't exactly a sure thing as he
steps into his first year in the role for which he's being groomed, depth was a concern.

As Blackburn Rovers languish towards the bottom of the Premier League, manager Steve Kean
continues to be backed by the club's Indian owners: The Venkys Group. Despite the current trend in
the game of sacking underperforming managers prematurely, fan protests outside Ewood Park and the
total inexperience of Scottish coach Steve Kean at this level, Kean still remains on the Lancashire
side's bench.
Qualifying starts. Maura Gladys has you covered.
Morgan looking to excel--in a new role?--as winter closes...
The last time the U.S. Women's National Team competed in a CONCACAF qualifying tournament, they
almost missed the cut for the 2011 Women's World Cup.
Right. I'm back. Well not really- I'm still temporarily on hiatus exploring the vast riches that
Monaco has to offer at the moment. But, I couldn't resist the urge to get something online after
leaving Jack to fend for himself for what seems like an eternity. The basics? Yes, I'm married.
Yes, I'm delighted.
Doctor Johnson wrote something along the lines of: "A man who tires of London, tires of life."
It holds up. But had he replaced London withVilla Park it would be Grade A bunkum. Because, I have
to say, after almost 30 years of watching the Arsenal at the home of Aston Villa, I have tired of
life.

The Timbers defense began the year as the team's most glaring weakness, but became the feel-good
story of the year by the end of the season. The questionable personnel choices made in the
preseason doomed them from the start. To make matters worse they fell victim to more than their
fair share of ugly injuries and immigration issues.
Union supporter Tim Carr sent us this story about how his trip to PPL Park before the
Toronto game, where he was volunteering in support of Breast Cancer and Ovarian Cancer Awareness
Day as well as to see the game, took an unexpected turn. Along the way, he was helped by some great
Philly sports fans.
People are predicting the Premier League title race is going to be a classic over the coming
season, but Roy Keane disagrees with this and reckons it will be a one-horse race.
The former Old Trafford captain reckons Manchester United will romp to the Premier League title and
not be worried about the presence of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City.
The Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who has been involved with the negotiations with
Arsenal for Cesc Fabregas, was very happy to announce the arrival of Alexis Sanchez at the Nou Camp
yesterday and bullishly proclaimed that he would be joined by Fabregas very shortly. Bartomeu said:
"It is a sure thing that we will [.
With the humidity at 95% and the heat index at 118° F at game time on Sunday evening, the
Minnesota Stars and the Puerto Rico Islanders played a match that was understandably sluggish and
dull. Neither side seemed to be able to keep much possession and runs off the ball were few and far
between.

The Sounders are a far superior side to Portland and they'll expect to take three points back to
Seattle. But without the killer instinct they've lacked all season long, it's far from a sure
thing. This is a big game for the Sounders even without the rivalry being taken into account;
Supporters Shield contenders need to beat bottom table teams no matter the venue and with the
Galaxy picking up a win on Saturday picking up only a point would make the gap look a far tougher
hill to climb.
FATHER'S DAY WITH THE USMNT - a one act play
_____________
Hey, Mike. Got a second?
Sure, Dad. What's up?
I'm gonna make a few changes in the lineup.
Oh.
No, you're still starting. It's just - I'm making some big changes.
The Gold Cup pairings should be coming out in early March and the speculation is starting to heat
up again on where the US will play. I agree with Steven Goff's assessment, and have been saying
since the site locations were announced that KC would have a very good chance of having the US in
town. People that have been speaking with the front office in other regards have been telling me
that they've been told it's very close to being a sure thing.

I did a mock draft for SI.
I hear Don Garber is headed down Miami way to meet with the 12 or so people that feel it is their
personal mission to continually spam his inbox with "MLS TO MIAMI" emails.
Good for The Don, maintaining his reputation as a man willing to engage the people.
But this is so clearly a bone-throwing exercise that it makes me chuckle a bit.
