EPL Talk 20 November @ 06:45 AM EST
Jan Molby is a player that I have a lot of time for. The Danish footballer was a maestro in
midfield. While he's best remembered as being a pivotal player for Liverpool during his time there
between 1984 and 1996, he has a special place in my heart for being a pioneer with the club I
support, Swansea City, where he introduced a beautiful style of play as player manager which laid
the groundwork for Roberto Martinez's arrival, much later, in 2007.

The Gunners won the game by 3 goals to nil. 2 goals from Van Persie & a quick extender by Fabregas
saw Spurs "shutdown" early.

I have no idea what Ongisnade means but it is the name of what I guess is an independent Arema
supporters' website and bloody well designed it is to (all in Indonesian).
The guys there produce an excellent looking on-line fanzine called, obviously, Ongisnade, but for
some reason after I download it I can never open it!

(Can a simple name change effect results?)
Last Friday, August 21st, 2009 was in my opinion a small step back for football in this country.
The controversial day marked the end of World Soccer Daily, the only daily football talk show in
America. The sense of community that I & so many other American European football fans found at WSD
will truly be missed.

Before our first home game a couple of weeks ago a 60 minutes crew joined our Supporters Club at
the Dog and Parrot. They were there as part of a story on Clive Palmer, our club owner. We were
filmed singing our chants and then a few of us were interviewed by Charles Wooley. It was a fun
afternoon.

It was a great experience to go to another MLS stadium last weekend, not least because we were
hosted by the Fire Supporters Club who looked after us grandly. I wanted to share a few
observations picked up over the weekend because I think they are of interest to all soccer fans.
Maybe we could even learn some things from them.

The Premier League, in their wisdom, organised Manchester United to face Manchester City on the
day closest to the 50th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster.
MCFC of course shat themselves, all too familiar with the chants of Munich heard every derby
day. Instead of a minute's silence, they requested a minute of applause.

I was lucky enough to visit the memorials for the Busby Babes yesterday, the original one and
the one made in 2004. It was an odd feeling being so close to a place that has shaped our club`s
history, which totally devastated so many people and destroyed a team that had the potential to be
one of the greatest of all time.

First, my quick opinion.
To the individual who sent this email, and to all the other people who have sent similar e-mails to
Steven Cohen. STOP! You're not helping, you are morons.
UPDATE: Some have asked in the comments how the suspended corporation status might effect any legal
action by LFC or former sponsors over Cohen's comments.

Since the flow of information out of Rowdies' headquarters has been reduced to a trickle, rampant

I was finally re-united with the Toronto Chelsea Supporters Club. The last time I visited this
lively bunch at Scallywag's, winter was just rolling in, Scolari was still coach and Chelsea lost
3-0 at Old Trafford. Much has changed from then, and Chelsea was a much different team in front of
Barca, but their supporters remain as lively and positive as ever.

Sports teams shaking their fans down for money is nothing new. U.S. Soccer passed the hat last week

hit up their most loyal fans for $50 a piece in exchange for some trinkets and dibs on tickets to
the 2010 World Cup.

Boy, I dodged a bullet this week on Four at the Back. Kenn cut out where I said something to the
effect that coaches know more about the game than referees, so I don't have to make this FATBack
post a huge apology and clarification. Coaches have to know scouting and tactics and motivation -
at least, I think they do, I'm a Galaxy fan so I couldn't say for sure - but that's a far cry from
saying coaches know more about the game than referees.
