It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. There can be few other sets of football
supporters that have had to bear up to the sort of agony and exhilaration that the supporters of
Darlington FC have had to put up with yesterday but eventually, more than an hour after final
confirmation one way or the other of the clubs fate was due to be announced, those concerned with
saving the club emerged before the press to make the announcement that so many had hoped for:
Darlington Football Club remains alive for now, at least.
Vegard Heggem was back on Merseyside last week to hand over a cheque to the LFC Foundation on
behalf of the club's Norwegian Supporters' Committee.
The former Liverpool defender and members of the Norway supporters' club presented the Reds with a
donation of £1,000 at Anfield on Friday afternoon.
At Tuesday's Supporters Club Q&A, manager Steve Cotterill and chief executive Mark Arthur sought to
address fans' concerns. Peter Blackburn reports. Despite a litany of mediocre questions, and
mediocre answers, in amongst the usual discussion about recent performances, relationship between
club and fans, and the hope that Forest would beat The Rams in the next [.
Meet the Mohegan Warrior
By Shane Badger
I had a chance Tuesday evening to catch up with Elliot Fauske the
Lancers sharp Defensive midfielder, dubbed the Mohegan warrior by his fans in the
Cavalry supporters club for both his hair style and his tendancy to scalp the ball
from his opponents feet.
That the first weekend of the new year should see the coming together of these two clubs is
entirely appropriate. Brighton & Hove Albion and Wrexham had differing experiences of 2011, but for
both clubs the year ended with the feeling of a clean slate having been managed for both clubs. For
Wrexham, the club is finally in the hands of the only people that could reasonably left in charge
of it after years of mismanagement, the Wrexham Supporters Trust.
The last post I wrote about featured a Columbus Crew Jeff Cunningham jersey, and it got me
searching for old Crew uniforms for a comparison. This BigSoccer thread is the mother load, with
plenty from other teams thrown in as well. I've got to say, the Crew have had some pretty nice
uniforms in their time.

In which Agent 00Gamst, acting behalf of the Blackburn Supporters Club, misinterprets his
'Operation: Steve Kean Out' mission brief and decides to go down the 'literal' route during Rovers'
1-2 defeat at the hands of Stoke on Monday night...
Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but the complete lack of apology from Pedersen seems to
speak volumes of the regard that Kean is held in at Blackburn.
Journalist and South Florida's premier soccer supporters club the Ultras met up with a couple of
legends this past Wednesday as part of a preview for the clash between Colombia vs Mexico at Sun
Life Stadium in Miami February 29, 2012.
The Ultras will be attending this game and have been assigned to section 129 at SunLife Stadium.
Updated my list of MLS Supporters Club....true I left some off, so if you know any that I'm not
reppin' please let me know.
Thankful list:
1. The FIRE will have one more fan next year (my newborn son or daughter).
2. The league finally got it's Beckham Cup. After all, they had to deal with quite a bit of hubris
to get to that point.
A night with Malky Mackay. 1927 Club Q&A Session at Hammersmith Working Men's Club, West
London.
It's taken me some time to transcribe much of this Q&A. I think I've represented what was said
pretty accurately, however if there are any errors please free to point them out to me.

In attendance:

Interim Chairman Jeremy Wray is believed to have personally ordered the groundsmen from their

Late October is a funny time of year. Your first or second favourite club is now in full swing
across the ocean, while your second or first favourite club is wrapping up their season with a game
steeped in frivolity and mediocrity. Toronto closes out their season against a side who was
eliminated from the post-season sometime in mid-July.
Members of the U.S. Soccer Supporters Club watch training from the sideline and wait to meet
the players
More than 1,500 fans turned up at Red Bull Arena on Monday night to watch the USA's
public training session. U.S. head coach Jurgen addressed the fans before the team conducted a
75-minute session, inspiring cheers and applause with some fine finishing in their shooting
exercises.
If the Arsenal hierarchy – Stan Kroenke, Ivan Gazidis, Arsene Wenger or who ever it is that
are the main powerbrokers at the club – want further evidence that we are in an alarming decline
on and off the pitch, perhaps they should consider a missive that has come my way.
It is from the head of one of our main supporters groups and it outlines the big drop in
interest from Gooners travelling from this particular area to home games.
There was a huge buzz inside The Home Depot Center on Wednesday as nearly 2,000 fans turned up to
watch the U.S. Men's National Team training in advance of Friday's match against Costa Rica. The
session, which was free and open to the public, lasted for more than hour, and fans were treated to
different exercises that involved a ton of shooting on goal.

The Cheesesteak Supporters Club was in the house. A few of the stalwarts rented a giant

I'm ready to make a Real Betis knock-off but it cannot be anywhere as entertaining as this
one...
Hey kids, you realize that our beloved Robins are in the midst of a 4 game unbeaten streak? Sure,
two of those matches were against the sub-NASL calibre Real Esteli and won both, but in a season
polluted with bad news (DeRo leaving) and worse news (I thought YOU were supposed to be centre back
tonight?
According to Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay, the Blues will sign two new players "in the
next eight to 10 days." One of those two players will Barcelona teenager Oriol Romeu as both clubs
have agreed to a transfer fee of around £5 million.
"Andre has come in just a few weeks ago and needed some time to look at the pool of players we
have, and we strengthened in January with bringing Fernando Torres and David Luiz into the squad,"
Gourlay told Chelsea's official Thailand supporters club.
Chelsea's Chief Executive Ron Gourlay, speaking at a question and answer session last night with
Chelsea's Thailand Supporters Club, revealed that although it has been a slow process up till now,
Chelsea will make two signings in the next eight to ten days.

As a lot of you probably saw on Wednesday night, a few players from the Independence made their
way down to the Union game against Everton. In fact, Lianne Sanderson probably should have suited
up for the Toffees, but that's a different story.
Tasha Kai and Val Henderson were there, banging the drum in the River End.

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Red Stars' final regular-season game in Women's Premier Soccer League play

The Red Stars were scheduled to play Eclipse Select for a Tuesday match open only to Red Stars

In the sanitized atmosphere of Singapore football not many of the teams there 'feel' like a
football club in the sense of a team identifiable with their local community. You don't walk round
Woodlands or Tampines and see people wearing club colours unless it's a Liverpool or Manchester
United shirt.
The only times I've seen people wearing club colours in Singapore, I mean local club, it has been
the green of Geylang United.
The Sons of Ben announced on Friday that co-founder Brian James has stepped down as president of
the Philadelphia Union supporters group.
Matt Ansboro, the vice-president under James, will take over as president of the supporters

On the outside looking in. Through the fence peering into LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.A magically
night for American soccer in Kansas City as LIVESTRONG Sporting Park made its debut in Major League

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution announced the signing of right midfielder Ryan
Guy on Thursday. Guy has spent the last four seasons playing in Ireland with St. Patrick's
Athletic.
The 25-year-old Guy made 139 appearances and scored 25 goals in his time with the Saints. In
2009, he was voted the St Patrick's Athletic Supporters Club Player of the Year.
The New England Revolution announced via press release yesterday that they waived 18-year old
Nigerian right midfielder Michael Augustine. Augustine hadn't made a single senior appearance with
the club, although he participated in reserve league and open cup matches. Given the team's poor
play of late, it may have seemed strange to get rid of a player that hadn't had a chance to prove
himself useless yet.
By Walter Broeckx The Arsenal Benelux play at the Emirates. A nice day out. As covered earlier in

- The MLS contingent arrived yesterday (minus Benny Feilhaber), bringing the number of players
present to 20 as of this morning. Alejandro Bedoya, Carlos Bocanegra and Clarence Goodson all
arrive later today.
- More than 57,000 tickets have been sold for the match against Spain, leaving only 10,000
remaining for what will be a record-setting crowd at Gillette Stadium.
Harry Redknapp has met me. Years ago my neighbour at the time organised a testimonial for one of
the Charlton players against West Ham and my wife's family are rabid Hammers, so there we were in
the director's box at the Valley. Before kick-off Peter waves to me and beckons me down to the
front. I'm happy to thank him but he says, "Where are the rest of you?
By Billy The Dog McGraw Tony and Walter are off playing in the Supporters Club tournament on the

The Japanese LFC Supporters Club have hailed a charity event in aid of the victims of the
earthquake and Tsunami disaster as a 'huge success'.
Chairman Keiko Hirano revealed that over 150 Reds fans had turned out to participate in a
fun-filled auction on May 21, a day that saw them raise approximately £2800 courtesy of LFC gear
donated by fans across the globe.
In the past ten days Burscough Football Club have seen their chairman and secretary sacked, a
groundshare with their rivals announced and seen their Supporters' Club disown them and make plans
to form a new, independent club. Yet just under 12 months ago the club were proudly announcing the
dawn of a new era.
It's just after 9am the morning before he collects his Footballer of the Year Award, writes Ken
Dyer, but
Scott Parker is already at West Ham's training ground, changed and ready
to test his troublesome Achilles tendon. On top of a cabinet in the club's media office stand three
big bottles of man-of-the-match Champagne.
The Chicago Red Stars Twitter page kicked off some dust last week and today a press release was
sent out that made it official: the Chicago Red Stars will be playing soccer in 2011. Red Stars
fans will have to get use to the WPSL not the WPL. WPSL stands for the Women's Premier Soccer
League and should not be confused with Women's Professional Soccer, the league the Red Stars
participated in for the 2009 and 2010 season.

This whole March/April home games thing is really backfiring. With the horrible weather we've been
having, don't be surprised if the pansy schedule people decide that TFC's home opener won't be
until May. Summer holidays will be brutal. Anyways, I've been sick and I know you all miss me.
Right.
I've long whined that Indonesian clubs have next to no idea about how to market themselves. This
story proves the theory.
