Caray

CNN's Piers Morgan (left) does a weird thing with his mouth after he speaks. His lips pinch tight. As if the torpedo tube is being sealed until the next salvo. It can be quite intimidating. It fits the style of a man who was previously employed as a tabloid editor in the warfare of English newspapers.

A man is who is facial hair is.... (Rollie Fingers, 1985)

A lot of press around the Jay DeMerit story and rightfully so. It's a beautiful tale as a Wisconsin soccer god and good guy grabs his knapsack and heads to Europe in search of a "football" career on the very island that birthed the game.

I don't hate football anymore. That's a big step for me; I used to actively loathe the game, and would be vocal about that whenever possible. In my mind, a man could have only been a fan of one football, and I was an adamant supporter of what was clearly the farer game. Now, of course, things are slightly different, as while it would take a strong effort to care any less about football, my feelings have shifted more towards a content indifference.

... about the Pats any more (as DaddyCornblog would say). Sadly, the Pats and Eagles are gone ... so now we're hoping for a Steelers-Packers Superbowl. (That's what the consensus is in these parts ... and HollyCornblog agrees, so you know it's gonna happen.)

Quite the shocker in Foxboro yesterday, eh?
