With J Hutcherson -- I'm not here to tell our Ohio friends what they should've been doing with
their Sunday afternoon, but Cruz Azul gave the Crew a lesson on how to get a result at the Nemesio
Diez. It's simple. Keep playing. Cruz Azul did that, taking advantage of a Toluca penalty miss and
eventually netting the winner.

Bah. The excitement is in the cups at the moment. This Sunday afternoon jaunt to Old Trafford
was always likely to end in resigned shrugs.
March seems to bring about an improvement in Fulham's away form, and for 45 minutes this
phenomenon was very much in evidence. While United were the better side, Fulham were in the
game.

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce has further turned up the heat ahead of the Premier League
clash against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has disliked Allardyce's physical approach to the game for some time
and went as far as making a DVD on Big Sam's Bolton side to send to the referees' association,
highlighting perceived injustices.

At the outset, I should clarify that I did not watch this match fully. If a weekend fixture
against a mid-table side cannot inspire Maddy enough that he needs to find true love on top of it
to get his creativity flowing, then what chances did my midweek fixture against a bottom-feeder
have? Gianfranco Zola has done a lot with West Ham, but figuring out how to beat us is certainly
not one of them.

The match between Manchester City and Liverpool on Sunday afternoon is set up to be one of those
highly-charged tipping points.
In the race for fourth, and the guaranteed wealth it brings with qualification for the Champions
League, this is a fixture that will shape the run-in.
With reports suggesting Craig Bellamy has fallen out with Roberto Mancini (denied by the City
manager), Carlos Tevez on indefinite compassionate leave in Argentina after the premature birth of
his child and Patrick Vieira suspended for three matches for violent conduct against Stoke last
week, City could do with some good news.

There is something feintly disorientating about the draw for the qualifying rounds of Euro 2012,
coming, as it does, before the World Cup finals have even started and in the middle of the domestic

and three groups of five and England face some tricky matches if they are to make it to Poland and
Ukraine in two and a haf years time.

Watching Arsenal crash out of the FA Cup at the hands of Stoke is not my favourite way I to
spend a Sunday afternoon. I understand and agree with team selection: I realise the need to give
valuable experience to many of what is hoped will be the stars of the not too distant future but
even after grabbing that crumb of comfort it is still not enough to console me and alleviate the
pain of watching the club that I love lose.

If I had to count the number of times that ESPN has ruined Premier League games for me this

One of the biggest headaches of Liverpool being in the Europa League is that this will mean an
increased number of Sunday afternoon games which are quite difficult to get to watch because that
is usually exclusively family time.
Of course, as with most other fans, I normally plan ahead to make sure that I get to watch the
games but on this occasion I had to miss the first thirty five minutes which, therefore, would make
it unfair for me to do the usual distinction between who had a good or a bad game.
