Liverpool Football Club have released yet another incredible statement in response to the Luis
Suarez racism case. After being found guilty of the charge of using an offensive word relating to
Evra's skin colour, "negro", the club have responded very negatively, despite Suarez and all his
witnesses admitting he used this word.
After reading the written reasons behind the decision to charge and ban Luis Suarez, you would
think even Liverpool fans would be forced to ditch their usual "victim" stance and admit their
player had done wrong. Not just their player though, but their club, for releasing that shameful
statement and then organising for their players to parade around in t-shirts supporting a man who
had just been found guilty of racial abusing someone.
After the live Q&A session Seattle Sounders FC committed to answering the rest of the questions
that were submitted by Alliance members. Many of these passed through my hands at some point,
though not all. Several had to be condensed together as they covered similar issues. But in the
final versions of the questions as submitted to the club through the Council or through twitter
submissions they answered.
Luis Suárez and Liverpool have limited appeal options to FA and courts
Liverpool could seek arbitration, or go to the high court or even the European courts – but
Luis Suárez may be better advised to try to put the racism furore behind him Luis Suárez has 14
days to consider whether to appeal against his eight-match ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra
from the date that Liverpool receive the written reasons of the Football Association's regulatory
commission, not from Tuesday, which was the date of the decision.
