Finally, after a long courtship with the Chicago Fire front office, the former Mexican international signed with the team early this week. He practiced the Fire for the first time on Thursday.

Pavel Pardo's long-rumored move to Major League Soccer is complete.

The Chicago Fire signed the Mexican midfielder, adding the veteran who turned 35 years old on Tuesday.

Pardo's decorated career has taken him from the Primera Division in Mexico to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga and back to his home country, where he most recently played for Club America.

The Brazilian Football Confederation, the CBF, has announced that Brazil will take on Mexico in a friendly on 11th October in Torreón, Mexico.

The wonderful thing about the Bundesliga is its unpredictability. You just never know what is going to happen. Witness the remarkable rises of Mainz, Hannover or Nürnberg last season, while teams expected to challenge at the top of the table – Stuttgart, Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg – spent much of the season desperately fighting against relegation.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has announced that Brazil will meet Spain and Italy in friendlies later this year.

The exact dates have yet to be set but the matches will take place in October and November and will be played in Europe (possibly London).

After the Copa America, the South Americans next fixture will be a meeting with Germany in Stuttgart on August 15th.

It's been interesting to see the transfer rumours this summer and in particular the ones that come full circle and try to let us believe that we've never seen them before.

Over the course of June, the links with Jermain Defoe to Arsenal, Aaron Lennon to Liverpool and the possible arrival of Serdar Tasci from Stuttgart have appeared, disappeared and subsequently appeared once again.

Ich hab diesmal zwischen mehreren Kandidaten entscheiden müssen wer das Rennen um den Titel "Slapstick des Spieltages" macht.
