Arsereview actually reviews something (part two): Nike Arsenal Full Zip Jacket

Arsereview 16 November @ 04:30 PM EST
You may remember that back in May I reviewed a football for this blog. You probably don't, but such is life.
If you do, you would remember that Soccerpro asked me to give an "honest, unbiased opinion" on the blog and in return, I could keep the product they sent me. To me, it seemed a fair offer, so that was exactly what I did: I wrote an honest review - that it was a good football, and in return I had a lovely football to play with until I kicked it on the neighbour's roof, never to be seen again. Philadelphia Union: Are You Spinal Tap In Disguise?

Major League Soccer Talk 13 November @ 09:35 PM EST

Is it me or does Philadelphia Union's soccer jersey looks very similar to the Shrewsbury Town jersey worn by Derek Smalls in the cult classic movie, This Is Spinal Tap?

In the 1984 film, there's a hysterical scene where Harry Shearer who plays the fictional character Derek Smalls tries to get through airport security.

Was Zinedine Zidane’s Retirement Just a Clever Marketing Ploy?

WorldCupBlog 06 November @ 03:22 PM EST

Some advance warning: This post is going to be mildly critical of Zinedine Zidane. Nothing too harsh, because as for many people he was one of my favourite players to watch. The vision, the touch, the roulettes, the shiny bald patch. Loved it. But that's also the reason I'm about to mildly criticize him.

Wednesday Night Preview: Revs at Dallas

WVHooligan 30 September @ 04:55 PM EST

Its kind of weird to see the Cotton Bowl hosting MLS once again but tonight it happens. The New England Revolution travel to Dallas to play part of a double header that will pretty much only boost Dallas' dreadful season attendance figures.

New England comes into town on a fairly hot streak despite the fact they just lost one of their key players Steve Ralston for the rest of the year to a knee injury.

Match Of The Week: Morecambe 1-1 Dagenham & Redbridge

Twohundredpercent 27 September @ 04:59 PM EST

The former Football League clubs that currently ply their trade in the Blue Square Premier must occasionally wonder how it has come to this. The match at The Abbey Stadium this afternoon between Cambridge United and Luton Town is being played between a crowd of almost 5,000 people but this match, a division higher, is being watched by only just over a third of that number.

What's in a number?

LadyArse - Arsenal and the world of football from a woman's perspective @ OleOl 12 August @ 01:43 PM EST

A lot it seems. We all know that squad numbers 1-11 are the most coveted, but in this day and age of extended squads, if you can get yourself anywhere between 1 and 29 you're doing pretty well.

So, even though it is a special number to him, it seems rather strange that Bendtner would choose to change his number from 26 to 52.

US Soccer’s Summer Of 2009

World Cup Buzz 12 August @ 12:01 PM EST

How would someone characterize US Soccer's Summer of 2009? The extreme optimist would say that the US made a non-CONCACAF tournament major final for the 1st time by ending Spain's world record streak, then with a "B" side made it to the final of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The extreme pessimist would say that the United States squad blew a massive opportunity to establish themselves as a major world footballing nation with their collapse in the 2nd half Confederations Cup final.

Cruz Azul, Umbro KISS Kits

Mad About FĂștbol 23 July @ 12:21 AM EST
While Mexican sides believe bigger is better as far as jersey sponsors are concerned, Cruz Azul hit it right on the spot making things smaller.
