Italy vs. Serbia Cancelled Due To Fan Trouble

Serie A Talk at related • 0 views

I was getting very excited about the Italy - Serbia game which was supposed to be played today, but to my (and probably many other people's) disappointment, the match was cancelled. The game was cancelled because of crowd trouble, mainly from the Serbian fans's end. The match's kick-off was delayed by about 35 minutes, and the game was stopped after just six minutes of play.

Alemania 0 - Serbia 1

Alemania no tuvo a los astros de su lado. Le expulsaron a Klose, erró un penal y pasó de candidato a equipo tibio en cuestión de 90 minutos. Serbia se lleva los tres puntos y se ilusiona.

Germany lose 1-0 to Serbia with Klose sent off

Soccer Wrap Up at related • 1 view
It's interesting to see the contrast between the Germany which lost 1-0 to Serbia, and the Germany which demolished Australia 4-0 . They're actually relatively similar except with the difference of Klose being sent off, and the other match of this group between Ghana and Australia will be played tomorrow.

Asamoah Gyan Puts Ghana In The Lead In Group D.

Serbia's 'White Eagles' faced off in the group D opening game today against Ghana's 'Black Stars.' Serbia, on paper, have a technically superior squad, and despite carving Ghana open on numerous occasions early on, were unable to exert their authority on the African team.

Serbia 0-1 New Zealand – All Whites Prepare for South Africa In Style

If the All Whites were hoping to be underestimated at this year's World Cup, then perhaps scalping a team 68 places above them in the FIFA world rankings was probably not the right way to go about it. After the heartache of last week's last-gasp defeat aginst Australia, many were beginning to wonder if New Zealand had the capacity to play world class opposition for a full 90 minutes and beyond.

When infielder Masahiko Morino popped up a sacrifice fly to edge Chunichi Dragons past Yokohama Baystars and into first place in Nippon Professional Baseball's Central League overnight, he ensured Nagoya's two major sporting teams currently top their respective leagues.

The Dragons last won the Japan Series in 2007, in a year in which their footballing counterparts struggled to make an impact - ultimately limping into a miserable eleventh-placed finish in the J.

Kawasaki Frontale were left kicking themselves after they went down 2-0 to Urawa Reds in front of a capacity crowd at Todoroki Stadium in the J. League last weekend.

That defeat was a further blow to the Kanagawa side's chances of winning a first ever J. League title, but for now coach Takashi Sekizuka will turn his attentions to the Asian Champions League.

Four countries, three continents; must be Group D, otherwise known as the Germany and everyone else group.

Germany is going to win this group, they're going to blow through this group, they're going to be in the second round and probably the quarterfinals. Ho-hum. It's probably no secret I despise German soccer.

A goal from Lionel Messi in the first half was enough for Barca to register a win against Getafe. Getafe was always a tough place for Barca to visit, but a 1-0 goal line was an injustice to FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona was denied by some poor finishing, excellent goal keeping by Stojkovic and some poor refereeing.

Franklin Lobos playing keepy-up

The story of the Chilean miners' rescue has been the big news story this week. After 69 days all 33 miners were rescued from the mine and as they emerged from the rescue capsule each man had a different style of re-appearing to the world some danced, others prayed, more cried, while one or two simply walked away but the 27th man to be rescued, Franklin Lobos, was given a ball and proceeded to play a game of 'keepy-up'.
