Stockport County went into Administration in April earlier this year with the appointment of John Titley and Paul Reeves, Directors at Leonard Curtis.

Today the Administrators at Leonard Curtis gave this statement about where the Sale of Stockport County is up to.

"The Administrators understand the frustration of supporters at the apparent lack of progress being made on completing a sale of the Club and exiting Administration, however, we would like to reassure all fans that the sales process is still continuing to progress.

There will be no Updates to Stockport Insider until Tuesday 3rd as I am going Away, thanks.

Speaking to Pure Fm after yesterdays thumping at home to Millwall County boss Gary Ablett admitted his side were poor and embarrassed themselves. He added "all afternoon we caused our own problems and we were never good enough, if things don't improve things are going to change".

By CHRIS LARKIN With Rugby Union's blood gate incident taking up the majority of Sky Sports' time I was relieved to see Football back as the main focus point of the channel and was shocked to see that Chelsea had been ban from making any transfers until January 2011.

I do have sympathy towards Chelsea's case in the way they appear to be singled out but if I'm quite honest I find it hard to actually feel sorry for teams when so many Stockport County players have been poached over the years for pittance, it's disgraceful we spend time and money training quality players that could get County to the next level and then get sold on for alot of money but the ‘bigger' clubs always come in and coax the naive kids into coming to the bigger team, when in actual fact all it does if deprive County of a player that could've really helped us and in many cases will ruin the players career.

Over the past Couple of days Rumours have been spreading that Championship Side Preston North End are interested in, in-form midfielder Carl Baker. Boss Gary Ablett was quick to see them out , speaking earlier at Manor Farm Ablett Said : "I've heard the rumours about Preston being interested in Carl.

County boss Gary Ablett has praised fans for their Loyal support as 4,000 fans have turned up to every home this season.Speaking to Radio Manchester Ablett said: "The fans have been absolutely fantastic as they've never once got at the players and all I can do is thank them, "They've known the situation that's happened and developed throughout the summer.

County play host to Hartlepool United this evening, in what promises to be an entertaining fixture.

Hatters boss Gary Ablett has no new injury worries ahead of the game, with Oli Johnson still missing out due to the floating bone in his ankle and Matty Mainwairing still recovering from his broken leg.

County gained a good away point from their weekend trip to the Galpharm Stadium.

Manager Gary Ablett kept faith with the starting 11 which beat Leyton Orient 2-1 the previous week, although there was 1 change on the bench where Adam Griffin replaced the injured Adam Griffin.

The Hatters started the game brightly and in a game where chances were hard to come by, could have taken the lead as early as the 48th second, when on-loan defender Paul Huntington played a perfect pass through to Nicholas Bignall, the strikers controlling touch set up the chance, but he failed to work the Huddersfield 'keeper.

County travel east to The Galpharm Stadium this weekend to face Huddersfield for the 2nd time this season, following our trip in the Carling Cup.

The Hatters will be looking to extend a run of games which has seen them lose just once in the last 6, away to Leeds.

Huddersfield will be looking to bounce back from defeat against Milwall last weekend and feature County old-boys Anthony Pilkington and Jim Goodwin.

Adam Griffin may feature on Saturday when County travel to Yorkshire to play Huddersfield Town, The 25 year old played around half an hour and scored midweek against Everton Youth.The midfielder may come straight into the side as Oli Johnson is a doubt after going for a scan on his Ankle on Monday.

Former Boss Jim Gannon has said that he wishes County all the best in the seasons to come.

Gannon said " I would like to thank all those people who sent cards and emails wishing me well for the future and their thanks for our past efforts for County.

Stockport County will take on Cheshire Neighbours Crewe in the first round of the Johnson's paint trophy.

The tie will be held at The Alexandra Stadium formerly known as Gresty Road.

Which will take place on Tuesday 1st September.

County Boss Gary Ablett has added to his squad of young players by signing Chelsea youngster Liam Bridcutt on loan until January.

Bridcutt was captain of Chelsea's reserve side last season but couldn't break through into the first team.

The 20-year-old has now been allowed out to gain further experience and will stay at Edgeley Park until 2nd January.
