Now that The USWNT team has qualified for the Summer Olympics after a superb tournament in
Canada, Head Coach Pia Sundhage can now turn her focus onto her squads first friendly match of the
new year against New Zealand. The match will be played at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas,
marking the eighth time the USWNT will play in the Lone Star State.

Fresh off a successful Olympic qualifying campaign, U.S. women's national team head coach Pia
Sundhage has called up 28 players for its upcoming friendly against New Zealand.
Nineteen of the 20 players on the Olympic qualifying roster were summoned by Sundhage for the
Americans' first game on home soil this year, including Alex Morgan, Hope Solo and Abby
Wambach.
U.S. WNT head coach Pia Sundhage has named the roster for the January training camp in Los Angeles,
after which she will name the 20-player roster for Olympic Qualifying being held in Vancouver, B.C.
from Jan, 19-29. Sundhage will bring 20 players to Canada, but will only be able to suit up 18 per
game.
The Boston Breakers have signed veteran U.S. National Team midfielder Heather O'Reilly, the club
announced today. Terms of deal were not realesed.
O'Reilly, 26, is a three year WPS verteran having last played with Sky Blue FC. She usually
features on the flank and has contributed four goals and 11 assists in her domestic career.
U.S. defender Stephanie Cox took a ball off the face from an odd angle the other day and had to sit
out a few days with some eye issues. She returned to training on Thursday, but only with some
special glasses to protect the her eye.
While she got a bit of stick from her teammates, we think she's making a fashion statement, and in
fact she's talked about getting them tinted so not only can she look cooler, but perhaps a bit like
Dutch legend Edgar Davids.
Breakers' midfielders Meghan Klingenberg and Keelin Winters were among 31 players called into
U.S. Women's National Team camp by head coach Pia Sundhage on Wednesday. The camp will run from
Dec. 3-20, and will take place at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
Klingenberg started in 10 games for the Breakers in 2011 after the team acquired her from the
now-defunct magicJack squad on June 1.
After a two-week training camp that featured 30 players, U.S. WNT head coach Pia Sundhage has named
the 18 players that will suit up against Sweden on Sat., Nov. 19 at the University of Phoenix
Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m. and fans can watch live via a webstream on ussoccer.com and also follow
along on ussoccer.
Those who know U.S. WNT defender Stephanie Cox know she has a huge heart. For a bit of insight into
her upbringing, you can check out this feature from her U-19 National Team days that we pulled out
of the archives.
Stephanie just returned from Japan where she participated in events with children on behalf of the
USOC and the Japanese Olympic Committee, traveling to the tsunami-ravaged part of the country, and
ESPN and the NCAA recently profiled her on a Human Highlight Reel.
U.S. WNT and former Portland Pilot stars Stephanie Cox visited Town Hall on Wednesday to give a few
gifts to local politicians and receive a proclamation (see below) from the Mayor and the city of
Portland proclaiming a Day of Recognition for the U.S. WNT. That's one of many things we love about
Portland.
Abby tallies in the 10th minute from the penalty spotThe U.S. WNT played its first match since the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup last night at the
fantastic LIVESTRONG Sporting Park (the best medium-sized stadium in the country? Could be....) and
while the Americans showed some flashes of dynamic soccer, there was also some rust to be shaken
off, and probably the best part of the night was the crowd.
The U.S. WNT held its pre-game training at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park yesterday in front of about
1,500 fans. The fans seem to enjoy the open training, as did the players, who signed autographs for
a bit after the session. Abby Wambach spoke to the crowd after the practice, thanked them for
coming and told them she'd see them tonight vs.
Today US Soccer announced the roster for the women's team when they visit KC to take on Canada on
September 17th at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. The roster contains all 21 players from the USA's run
to the World Cup final this year in Germany. It'll be a nice doubleheader for those wanting to go
out on that Saturday as following the US game they'll be showing the Sporting KC vs Real Salt Lake
game.

Official Women's World Cup Team Photo (Photo Credit: USSoccer.com)USSoccer.com has been putting
together these mini-profiles of each of the USWNT players that will complete in Germany for the
2011 Women's World Cup.
Here are the first six videos featuring 13 of the 21 players on the roster.
The U.S. WNT has been in Germany just about a day and half, but has settled in quickly. The travel
from Austria to Germany was smooth and uneventful, until the arrival in Germany, when the players
were greeted by media and organizers and could definitely feel the buzz of the Women's World Cup.

The United States women's national team kicks off its World Cup campaign on Tuesday in hopes of
securing its first World Cup championship since 1999.
The U.S. women have never finished worse than third in any of the five Women's World Cups, but
after the standard that was set by the teams of the past, it figures to be win or bust yet again
for coach Pia Sundhage and her squad.
Editors's Note: The US Women are on the ground in Germany, but how will their back
four fare on the pitch?
TSG guest columnist Maura Gladys takes a look. Offer her some feedback.
Christie Rampone, has nearly all the "Been there, done that" of the back four.
ALLSTON, Mass. The Breakers had some veteran presence on the field, but it was the rookies and
unsung heroes who made the difference in last night's 2-1 victory over Magicjack at Soldiers
Field.
The Breakers had to cope with the World Cup duties of defenders Rachel Buehler, Amy LePeilbet,
and Stephanie Cox plus midfielders Kelley O'Hara and Lauren Cheney.
Two games were played over the weekend, and new players got a chance to show what they're made
of in Week 6 of Women's Professional Soccer. The Flash played yet another game at home on Friday
night and handed the Boston Breakers a 3-2 loss. The Atlanta Beat was also at home this week, and
the visiting Philadelphia Independence made a huge comeback to win the match 2-1 playing most of
the match a man down on Sunday evening.
Yesterday US women's coach Pia Sundhage announced her 21-player roster for the upcoming Women's
World Cup: Goalkeepers - Hope Solo, Nicole Barnhart, Jillian Loyden Defenders - Heather Mitts,
Christie Rampone, Becky Sauerbrunn, Amy LePeilbet, Ali Krieger, Stephanie Cox, Rachel Buehler
Midfielders - Lindsay Tarpley, Shannon Boxx, Heather O'Reilly, Carli Lloyd, Megan Rapinoe, Lori
Lindsey, Tobin Heath Strikers - Amy RodrÃguez, Lauren Cheney, Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach I am
struck by how old this US team is, especially in the back line.
United States women's national team coach Pia Sundhage won an international title in her first
year at the helm, guiding the USWNT to a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She's banking on
that success carrying over to this summer's FIFA World Cup in Germany.
Twelve of the 21 players selected to represent the United States this summer have never
participated in a World Cup before, but 14 were part of the 2008 world-championship team, and that
experience will be counted on as the No.
Coach Pia Sundhage named her 23 player roster for this summer's Women's World Cup in Germany.
