With a quarter of the Premier League season wrapped up, the unavoidable reality is that
Liverpool hasn't performed up to the level that many fans had hoped they would. They haven't seemed
especially poor perhaps, but clearly they haven't hit the sorts of highs they did in the second
half of 2010-11 that had fans talking about the squad being a few tweaks away from legitimate
contenders after finishing out the season with the third best record—and very nearly the second
best up until stumbling through their final two matches—in the league under Kenny Dalglish.
The Rochester Lancers announced the signing of their first player.
Doug Miller,
the former Rochester Rhinos player and indoor soccer legend has signed with the Rochester Lancers
Indoor Soccer Team.
"Doug is probably the best indoor player I have ever played with," Head Coach Billy Andracki said.
It's one of those mornings where you hold on to your morning cup of coffee and try to transition
your mind to the work ahead. Not the easiest task after the latest weekend in Seattle Sounder-land.
Two big let-downs this weekend. The first was a disappointing 0-0 tie against Chivas USA at the
C-Link.
My last post on Wayne Rooney got me thinking about shooting efficiency.
As supporters we want our club to have players that maximize use of chances, in effect, score
goals. Goals are delicious not in the same way that aged cheese is delicious but in the way in that
they lead to wins and make us happy.
*Neither the Galaxy nor MLS have responded to a report Sunday that had leading scorer Edson
Buddle rather embarrassingly snubbing a new contract with MLS for a struggling second-tier German
outfit.
It's hard to blame Buddle, who turns 30 in May, for wanting to make some serious coin if reports
of his likely paycheck are accurate.
