Mr Nice Guy: Why is Sydney's defence so poor this year?

There was a time under the soon to be booted nicest man in football when Sydney won 1-0 - boring but they won.
Then in season 2, they lost 1-0. More boring and more frustrating.
Now in Season 3 they lose, by 3, 4 or 5 and that's at home.
Mr Lavicka might be nice - but he's a pretty ordinary coach.

That's mainly because we rarely bother to cover it, but our attention was drawn specifically to the game between AZ Alkmaar and Ajax last night, when a fan onto the pitch and tried to attack Alkmaar 'keeper Esteban.

Doing markets can be great fun. Hade and I have done market stalls in Balham (Christmas market), Greenwich, and various others here and there. We sold Hade's handywork, and some went well and some didn't. The problem you have is that for some of these you're paying £60+ for your pitch, so have to shift an awful lot of stuff just to break even.

Tim will doubtlessly have his own ideas so I won't call this a CCN suggestion, but to me it has to be Lambert.

Managers seem to fall into a few categories:

  • Those who cannot manage (lots in this group don't last long)
  • Those who do no harm (most in this group)
  • Those who are really good (very few in this group)

I'm not sure how common it might be to move through these hypothetical groupings, but to me management is all about achievement.

Five goals, three reds, an imperious performance by Shafiq Ghani culminating in two goals, the second hotly contested by Geylang players who carried the protest on after the game, the on-looking Pele and Eric Cantona must have wondered why half the stadium was empty.
The Eagles must have got stuck in the traffic 'cos they never turned up first half.
