Liverpool, the English soccer club which signed a record shirt sponsorship deal with Standard
Chartered earlier this year, has agreed another lucrative partnership.
The club will be backed by 188Bet, the online betting company which already has partnerships in
place with Aston Villa, Chelsea, Bolton and Wigan.

financial perspective.
The Stg 80 million 4-year shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered is done and dusted, and
the re-financing negotiations with RBS and Wachovia included some measures prone to reduce the
liabilities of the Club.

In the wake of the recent new sponsorship deal with London-based bank Standard Chartered, new
Liverpool-Kop writer Joe Rimmer believes it's about time somebody praised the job that 'managing
director' Christian Purslow has done since he arrived at Liverpool in June 2009.

Despite Liverpool concluding a world record shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered earlier
this month - a partnership the bank put down to the club's huge global fan-base - managing director
Christian Purslow has warned that those same fans could put off other sponsors.
There has been great discontent at Anfield over the club's management by owners Tom Hicks and
George Gillett, which has manifested itself in a number of fan protests.

The documents concerned is apparently a prospectus published by investment banks Rothschild and
Merrill Lynch which was released by Bloomberg News.
It reveals that the owners have capped the spending on new players and also any increase of
wages to £20M.

The bullish noises coming from Anfield last week that Liverpool is now on course to be the richest,
most popular club in the world were tempered a little bit by their timing.
Having worked so hard to seal one of the most lucrative sponsorship deals around, Liverpool's
owners would surely have been eager to have announced it a few weeks ago when Rafael Benitez might
have been able to find some way to spend some money.
