According to the Daily Mirror and Mail among others, Manchester City's Micah Richards has been
moved to delete his @officialMR2 Twitter account and asked police to investigate after receiving
torrents of racist abuse from a 'small but depressing minority of people' over the past few
months.
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has slammed the small minority of fans who called for Kenny
Dalglish's head after the recent 3-1 home defeat to Bolton. In his column for The People, Collymore
- who was on the bench when Liverpool beat Dalglish's Newcastle team 4-3 in 1997 - argued: "It was
strange to hear Kenny getting flak from a section of fans in the wake of that defeat at Bolton last

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has called on Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini to
stop trying to influence referees by waving imaginary cards on the touchline. In recent weeks,
Mancini has been caught on camera several times exhorting the referee to take action by waving the
imaginary red card.
In the last month, Paul Scholes and Thierry Henry have made goalscoring returns for Manchester
United and Arsenal respectively, and clearly inspired by their exploits, 40-year old former
Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has made the bold claim that he is fit enough to come out
retirement and do the business at the highest level.

Andy Carroll signed for Liverpool one year ago today, and it's fair to say that the big man has
still not settled in at Anfield. The question is, will he ever do the business for Liverpool? Stan
Collymore doesn't think so, and believes that the best way forward would be for Carroll to return
to Newcastle.
Hot on the heels of Liverpool legend Jan Molby claiming Andy Carrol would never make it Anfield,
former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has argued that the former Newcastle man is a 'waste of
money'. In his weekly column for The People, Collymore - who formed a lethal partnership with
Robbie Fowler between 1995 and 1997 - expressed some sympathy for the struggling striker, but

Time to lighten the mood. Given that Marc Albrighton notched the Premier League's 20,000th goal
last night, it seemed only right to put together a little video compendium of ten of the best most
hideously ugly goals ever to have been scored over the course of these 19-and-a-half glorious
seasons.

Before I say anything else, let me just make it clear that I think that Gary Speed's death
yesterday, at the age of 42, is unquestionably tragic; an awful, shocking piece of news. It's
difficult for me to imagine a circumstance so terrible that hanging myself seemed the best option,
and I hope I never experience anything remotely approaching it.
The news of Gary Speed's death today is as surprising as it is sad, with a true gentleman and
Premier League great suddenly gone without a hint of a warning.
It is perhaps a bit of a cliche to say he was one of the last you would expect this of, but it
really fits right now; never in his distinguished career has Speed been known for anything other
than being a model professional, and it is alarming that there has, presumably, always been
something lurking under the surface that he never felt comfortable sharing with anyone.
This morning's news of the death of Gary Speed at just forty-two years of age is too recent
and too raw to pass comment upon in any detail and this particular piece is not here to speculate
on the reasons why Gary Speed may have chosen to take his life, but to look at recent comments made
by Stan Collymore and The Secret Footballer on the subject of depression in football.

Former Liverpool Striker Stan Collymore has launched a scathing attack on Sepp Blatter in response
to the FIFA President's cretinous comments about racism in football.
Blatter recently argued that there was 'no racism in football', and suggested that even if there
was, it could be dealt with by players 'shaking hands' at the end of the game.
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has controversially claimed that Manchester United boss Sir
Alex Ferguson is a superior manager to Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley.
Collymore, who also claims that Man United wanted to sign him in 1994, argued:
"Through the years there have been plenty of top bosses; Jock Stein, Brian Clough, Bill Shankly and
Bob Paisley have all written their names into history books, but Fergie is on a different level
altogether".
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has attacked a small section of the club's fans fans for
showing 'open dissent' towards manager Kenny Dalglish after the Swansea game at the weekend.
Fans were reportedly booing at Anfield on Saturday after Liverpool were played off the park, and
during Collymore's radio show on that night, there were a few very irate fans (Liverpudlians, it
should be added), who were vehemently castigating Dalglish for his perceived failings.
A recent survey on this site revealed that 87% of Liverpool fans who voted want Martin Skrtel and
Daniel Agger as the club's first choice central defensive partnership. After a great performance by
the duo against West Brom at the weekend, they've certainly staked their claim, but are they as
good as the league's top defenders?
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has vehemently criticised Chelsea and their 'cocky' manager
Andre Villas-Boas for for 'failing to take racism seriously' , and for claiming that the John
Terry-Anton Ferdinand situation had been 'blown out of proportion'.
Collymore, scathed:
"You can now add Chelsea to the list of top clubs who fail to take racism seriously.

The FA is currently 'investigating' Patrice Evra's recent allegation against Luis Suarez, but even
if the Uruguayan striker is found guilty, what difference will it make? It's highly unlikely he'll
be 'convicted' and banned; like every other instance of alleged racist abuse in top-flight football
over the last 30 years or more, it will be brushed under the carpet, and the vicious cycle of
prejudice will continue.
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore is disappointed with the way Liverpool and Manchester
United have handled the Luis Suarez-Patrice Evra situation, and questions whether either club
really wants to get to the bottom of the issue.
Collymore argues Liverpool and United have too easily accepted their players' versions of events,
and that there may be an ulterior motive behind this:
"With Evra and Suarez, the thing that is most disappointing of all is that Liverpool and Manchester
United have just accepted their players' version of events without question or investigation.
Manchester United's Patrice Evra recently accused Luis Suarez of racial abuse, but this is not the
first time Liverpool FC have been embroiled in a racism row. Retired Premier League referee Graham
Poll how the FA dealt with a similar allegation involving Liverpool FC back in the late 1990s.

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore believes the club is lacking the defensive steel and that
is stopping Kenny Dalglish's side challenging for major honours.
Liverpool were one of the busiest clubs during the summer transfer window and added the likes of
Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing, Jose Enrique and Sebastian Coates on top of
January signings Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez.
