Liverpool are said to be monitoring Tottenham's interest in Marseille striker Loic Remy with a view
to pipping the North London side in the race to sign the French international.
The 25 year old striker has previously been linked with a move to the Merseyside club in the summer
but no bid was forthcoming but the eight match ban handed down to Uruguayan Luis Suarez and the
average form shown by Andy Carroll has led the Anfield side to re-ignite their interest in the
Stade Velodrome forward.

Valencia vs Genk from the Mestalla, Valencia
In what looks to be a tighter group then expected, Valencia know that three points at home against
Genk are a must if they want to control their own destiny before the final match day of the group,
and qualify for the last 16.
It's easy enough to look at Arsenal's recent away form and state that a victory against Norwich
City is near enough inevitable. At Stamford Bridge Arsenal defeated Chelsea 5-3 in a roller coaster
of a match. Prior to that they had defeated Marseille in the Champions League in France at the
Stade Velodrome.
Results, regardless of performances, are often the hallmarks of champions. Time and time again,
the best sides have been able to grind out wins even in the face of formidable adversaries and
unlikely circumstances.
Now, the Arsenal performance Tuesday night at the Stade Velodrome was far from subpar, but in a
fairly even match, Aaron Ramsey's strike at the death brings all three points back to North London,
and for the first time it seems that Arsene Wenger's side, who have suffered this year from media
criticism and a string of very poor results, may have the ability to achieve something this year
and in the future, and at the least remain in the Champions League spots.

Mathieu Valbuena's getting too old for this merde
Speaking as a partially-inebriated neutral, Arsenal's narrow victory over Marseille at the Stade
Velodrome wasn't in the politest terms possible very easy on either the eye or the frontal
lobes.
Substitute Aaron Ramsey came off the bench to score the winner as Arsenal secured a priceless 1-0
away to Olympique Marseille at the Stade Velodrome. Defensive solidarity, confident in the result
as well as a ruthlessness hitherto unseen so far this season. Such qualities were clearly on show
for Arsene Wenger's men on Wednesday as [.
Aaron Ramsey struck two minutes into added time to give Arsenal an important 1-0 win at
Marseille's Stade Velodrome that puts them in control of Champions League Group F.
After a largely dispiriting 90 minutes in which both sides struggled to create clear-cut
chances, substitute Ramsey controlled an accidental flick-on from Gervinho and placed his shot
low past Steve Mandanda to give Arsene Wenger's side a fifth win in six games in all
competitions.

Arsenal travel to the Stade Velodrome tonight in a champions league clash against Group F
leaders Marseille. The Gunners go into this match knowing that anything less than a win could
seriously hamper their chances of moving onto the next stage.
However things do not look too good for Arsenal as number of their key players are major doubts
for the fixture.
Who wants to give me a helping hand?
Arsenal heads to the south of France to continue our Champions League adventure. This is the
first of 2 back-to-back matches against Marseille. Stade Velodrome will provide the backdrop for
this encounter and this is the same pitch where Dennis Bergkamp scored that immaculate goal for
Holland against Argentina in the 1998 World Cup.
Wenger says the two games against Marseille will be vital for Arsenal's qualification hopes and
fans who don't want a repeat of last season's second round draw know results in these two fixtures
will go a long way in deciding the group topper.
Nevertheless, I have a feeling Arsene will rotate some of his players and I support that
wholeheartedly.
Tomorrow sees the Arsenal step on the Stade Velodrome and take on the mighty Olympique
Marseille, for what is due to be an exciting clash for 1st place in Group F. With Olympiakos
winless and Dortmund disappointing, the Arsenal-Marseille clashes will likely dictate the final
standings of our group, so it's important to go and get a result out there tomorrow.

Valencia vs Chelsea from the Estadi de Mestalla, Valencia
The talking point in this one will be the return of former Valencia midfielder Juan Mata to the
Mediterranean coast with his current side, Chelsea. Both of these sides are favored to qualify for
the knockout phase of the tournament, so the home side expect to win this one, and manager Unai
Emery has said as much, and expecting a sold out Mestalla will put the pressure on.
Name them "Clash of the two Olympiques", or "Olympico", or "les sardines débarquent chez les
quenelles" (can't wait to see you guys running that one on Google Translation !), these games have
become milestones of the Ligue 1 season, so football lovers and broadcasters alike- love them.
But these popular encounters haven't always been so eagerly expected, much less so than an
OM-PSG, for instance.
To say that Manchester United have a right to be in the Champions League quarterfinals might be
going a bit too far, but a Champions League quarterfinal draw without United in the hat is an
oddity and a rarity.
United are the only side to have reached at least the quarterfinals in each of the previous four
seasons, and we've hit that mark in 11 of the last 14, so there's tradition to uphold as we face
Marseille tonight at Old Trafford.
Marseille host Manchester United tonight at the Stade Velodrome in the last-126
of the Champions League with United looking for their 10th CL away victory in 11 games.
However the last time these too met was in 1999 when a William Gallas goal for Marseille was
enough for a French victory at home how the Marseille faithful would love some of the same
tonight.

'Tis the gospel truth, Arsenal have no defence at the moment a fact that the gossip-hounds and
rumour-mongers of this land are seemingly all too aware of.
The latest name linked with one of the several vacant gaps in the Gunners' Emmental-like
back-line is that of Bordeaux centre-back Michael Ciani, otherwise known as the
poor sod that Arsene Wenger opted for wizened veteran Sebastien
Squillaci over back in the summer.
PARIS, France — French international striker Andre-Pierre Gignac finally justified his
18-million-euro transfer fee on Sunday when he scored his first home league goal for champions
Marseille in a 2-1 victory over Bordeaux. It was only Gignac's second league strike of the season
his first was at St Etienne in October although he [.
