Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff is in strong disagreement with those who want Arsenal boss Arsene
Wenger to leave the club as he has hailed the Frenchman as one of the best managers in the
world.
The Gunners suffered a massive setback after their 2-1 defeat in yesterday's North London derby
left them 12 points adrift of the Barclays Premier League summit and along with below par
defending, the club's playmaking abilities were also brought into question.
Liverpool are believed to be plotting a £10m swoop for Olympique Lyon midfielder Miralem
Pjanic.
The 21-year-old has drifted in and out of the team this season, with coach Claude Puel often
preferring Yoann Gourcuff ahead of the Bosnia international.
Pjanic, a creative midfielder with an eye for goal, has only started twelve league games this term
and is reportedly growing disillusioned with life at Stade de Gerland.
French clubs Lyon and Marseille will attempt to spring major upsets in the Champions League this
week after being held to first-leg draws at home against Real Madrid and Manchester United
respectively.
Marseille may feel they have the better chance having prevented Sir Alex Ferguson's men from
scoring in the goalless stalemate at the Stade Vélodrome.

Kobenhavn vs Chelsea from Parken Stadion, Copenhagen
Already the Danish champions have made history by becoming the first Danish side to play in the
knockout rounds. Of course similar to a few clubs who's domestic league shut down, Kobenhavn are no
different and they say the break has actually helped them prepare for this challenge.

We've heard it all before Madrid will finally end Lyon's unbeaten run against them.
Liverpool are set battle Manchester United in the race to sign Brazilian defender Michael
Bastos.
The 27-year-old Lyon full back is expected to leave the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer, and Liverpool
are thought to have joined the race to sign the £22 million rated player.
An attack-minded left back, Bastos left Lille in the summer of 2009 for a fee in the region of
€18 million, and has gone on to become a star at the Stade de Gerland.
Unsurprisingly, cash-gorged Manchester City have dominated the footballing transfer market in
2010, shunting a combined total of somewhere up around the €350 million mark in fees and
transfers into the global market between January 1st and the present day as owner Sheikh
Mansour continues to feed his foray into capitalism on a gargantuan scale.
