Blue Springs, MO Springfield Catholic were in familiar territory today, as they returned to the Class 1 Championship game as the defending champions. Southern Boone County could hardly contain their excitement as they warmed up prior to the game.

Springfield Soccer Clubhas started a great new program called the Development Academy. The SSC Development Academy is aimed at giving every kid in the Springfield area an opportunity to continue to play soccer without having to make a full time commitment to the sport of competitive soccer.

College Coaches at 1st Showcase

The 2012 All-State Team for Class 1 schools has been announced. Recognition for Conference, Regional and State awards is done by members of the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA). Springfield Catholic are State Champions, defeating Southern Boone in the Final. Bayless and Bishop LeBlond were semifinalists.

Springfield, MO Springfield Soccer Club has announced their Spring season High School Boys tryout schedule. Please note the flyer below. SSC's teams play in the following leagues: Midwest Developement League a part of the National Premier League , Midwest Regional League , and the Heartland Soccer League.

Springfield, MO Total Demize SC in Springfield, will host tryouts for their High School Boys program on November 19th and 20th. On Monday November 19th, registration will begin at 6pm. Thetryout session will be from 6:30pm-8pm on the LCS North Fields.

The Springfield SC 95-96 Girls opened their account at the Missouri State Cup with a decisive 4-1 win today over the St Louis Scott Gallagher Premier Red squad. Both teams were a bit ragged to open the game, nerves related to the start of Cup play is the usual culprit. SSC settled theirs around the 25th minute when Lydia Holtmann scored a goal following a run into the box on the left side and a nice finish to the right side.

The European Championships return Friday June 9th and all of the games will be broadcast on an ESPN channel. I'll be enjoying the games at Farmers Gastropub, the award-winning British Pub located in downtown Springfield. The Pub was recently named best restaurant outside of the U.K. in The Telegraph newspaper's "Best of British" competition.

The 2012 Missouri State Cup Draw will take place on Monday, April 9th, 2012 at 7:00 PM. The draw will take place at the MYSA Office, but will also be available online via webcast.
