jersey de los All Blacks que están usando en el Mundial de Rugby 2011.

10 years ago the US played Costa Rica at Arrowhead Stadium in KC. It was my first trip to see
the team in person and a game that I will never forget. At that time, it was difficult to find
US games on TV (many games were on pay-per-view if they were broadcast at all) and you had to scour
the internet for hours just to find any news relating to the team.
The Onion is renowned for always looking at the bright side of life. And in comical fashion,
they've now put together a video that spoofs ESPN SportsCenter's coverage of Major League Soccer.

Despite the news that La Liga will delay the start of the 2011-12 season due to a strike by the
Spanish players' union, soccer fans can still look forward to the 2011 Supercopa Espana which kicks
off Sunday, August 14 between La Liga winner Barcelona and Copa del Rey champion Real Madrid.

table while the Union currently reside at the top.

Brotherly Game, SB Nation's Philadelphia Union blog.

As much as ESPN irks me sometimes with their lack of MLS coverage, I've always enjoyed their
SportsCenter commercials. This one, in particular, I thought was great.
Have you seen the This is SportsCenter commercial with Abby Wambach? If not, here it is. (Obviously
shot a little while ago as her hair is quite different now!) Bravo to Abby for joining the pantheon
of sports stars, ESPN anchors and mascots to be featured in a This is SportsCenter spot.
As we all know, diving is one of the most reviled tactics in sports. The outcry over Charlie
Davies' flop that may have cost RSL three points on Saturday, and the much more muted hand-wringing
over a possible Jermaine Jones dive on Sunday, has the concept of soccer players falling with
minimal contact becoming a talking point for many in the sports media.
This is why I love SportsCenter. Their ads are always timely and spot on. John Anderson's
embellishment is spot on and USWNT's Abby Wambach makes an appearance. (H/T to kckrs.com for

Read the book if you're interested in the politics and power struggles of SportsCenter, about how
Tony Kornheiser feels about Mike Tirico (and vice-versa) and random stories about how females at
ESPN are treated badly - (although Michelle Beadle is lauded mightily by the authors).
But if you're interested in how the ESPN book intersects with soccer (do they reveal the conspiracy
against the sport?

played locally or if its something I can catch all the time so I can stay in front of it.
Sometimes there are good messages that have to be delivered by the wrong people. In this case I
feel the need to counter some of the ridiculous jubilation about the teapot tempest triggered by
the comments John Spencer made yesterday regarding Sigi Schmid. Unfortunately, since I'm a Seattle
fan it will be too easy to dismiss any opinion I have as hopelessly biased.
Last week on Twitter, Kei Kamara and Teal Bunbury tweeted at Cincinnati Bengals' wide receiver,
Chad Ochocinco, saying he should come train with Sporting KC now that the NFL has locked the
players out. I'd avoided comment on the topic at the time because I figured it was just going to go
away with out anything so I really did not want to get on it.

Within the American soccer bubble, the CONCACAF Champions League is a pretty big deal. Or rather,
the idea that an MLS team needs to win the title in said lead is a pretty big deal. Don Garber
talks about it constantly. American soccer fans, no matter which MLS team they support, bemoan the
league's lack of success.

The Onion (born in FBM HQ North aka Wisconsin!) has a new sport-centric show on Comedy Central
called "SportsDome". Last week, in their premier episode, the took a shot at Major League Soccer in
a highlight segment that covered the last four years of the league or "since we last checked in on
the league".

the spotlight. But when Levante's Christian Stuani was subbed on for Levante, he decided to give
