How Did I Just Discover This?

Booked for Dissent 07 November @ 12:17 PM EST

Apparently Del Amitri did the theme song for Scotland's 1998 World Cup team. YouTube embedding has been disabled by their label (yeah, because you wouldn't want to let their millions of fans talk about it, right?), but you can watch it here (with a special guest appearance by Colin Hendry's mullet!

Hughton makes plea to supporters.

Newcastle United Blog - NUFC news, blogs and debate. 06 November @ 05:43 AM EST
Chris Hughton has asked Newcastle United fans to put their disagreements with the board behind them and support the team. Fans are, of course, particularly upset that Ashley plans to peddle Sports Direct on the back of or, to be more precise, on the front of the St James' Park name. Hughton evidently fears [. Llambias understands the importance of St James’ Park.

Newcastle United Blog - NUFC news, blogs and debate. 04 November @ 02:05 AM EST
! Article Start >Derek Llambias explains about the renaming of Newcastle United's stadium. The upshot is that St James' Park will not be lost. The names of sponsors will just be added to the front of it in the manner of something such as 'Sports Direct @ St James' Park' or 'Pampers @ St James' Park'. Click to continue reading...

Two Mornings After – How Was It For You?

Tottenham On My Mind 03 November @ 10:20 AM EST
So how was it for you? The morning after is always worse than the night before, or in this case two mornings after. It's bad enough watching Spurs self-destruct, but the real impact is when you have to go work on Monday. My tried and tested method of dealing with football-related grief (hey, that's sounds good, [. Bellamy, You Must Be Joking

English Premier league 02 November @ 06:33 AM EST

If there is one thing that really grinds the Yank's gears it is when athletes that commit a stupid act try to defend it weeks later rather then just allowing the situation to pass and admitting their own stupidity.

Manchester City player and Wales team captain Craig Bellamy was recently a guilty party of such a crime.

Spurs v Arsenal

Tottenham On My Mind 01 November @ 07:23 AM EST
Defeat is always hard to stomach. Despite having had enough practice over the last 40 years or so of watching Spurs, I have never quite become used to it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who smiles

RefBlog 29 October @ 01:01 AM EST
What a bummer: all set to be a national; assessments in-hand and doing the physical (which are not located anywhere near this state) you yank a hamstring. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a pretty good definition of sucks. But he's a great referee, who on more than one occasion has helped me out (including one big ass saving), both on the field and off; I hope he'll get another chance next year. Guitar Hero using soccer balls?

Attacking 90 28 October @ 01:07 AM EST
For the love of football!

This looks like too much fun. What footballer wouldn't want to have a go at a game like this?

Play Guitar Hero by kicking soccer balls against a warehouse wall? The scale of this takes video gaming to another level, and looks silly fun. It would take a handful of good footballers and some practice to manage a decent score, but wouldn't it be a blast to try?

Soccer By Ives 27 October @ 08:22 PM EST

It's many years down the road, but there is already talk of how the U.S. economy would be affected by hosting the World Cup in either 2018 or 2022. A recent study conducted by the Economics practice at a leading sports consulting firm (AECOM) indicated that the U.S. would receive a potential boost of $5 billion if it were to host the World Cup.

Hands up if you'd forgotten about Joe Cole? No need to be embarrassed, I sort of had as well. At least as an England starter anyway.

The Chelsea man has been out since January with a knee injury, but returned to play a starring role as Chelsea thrashed Blackburn 5-0 this weekend.

In Honor Of Liverpool Football Club

After today's victory over Manchester United, perhaps they should change their theme song from You'll Never Walk Alone to this one.

Spurs v Stoke. Should Have, Could Have, Didn’t.

Tottenham On My Mind 25 October @ 03:18 AM EST
Tottenham Hotspur did not play particularly well against Stoke City, but we played well enough to win. Whilst readily acknowledging our opponents' sterling defensive qualities and admirable teamwork, we dominated for long periods and should have put this one to bed long before Whelan's late winner. A bright start showcased Huddlestone's long range passing, spreading the [. Click to continue reading...

Spurs: We Will Score One More Than You

Tottenham On My Mind 22 October @ 09:29 AM EST
