TROPHY!!!

1
Hi. Ed here. Even teams that win the NIT celebrate. Though I don't consider the Open Cup the NIT - and in fact, I'm kind of disturbed by that characterization of it. I want DC United to win every competition they enter - though simple scheduling and roster logistics make that wish a vast statistical improbability. Click to continue reading...

Here, an interesting interview with Valencia president and majority shareholder Vicente Soriano in today's Las Provincias.

It's an illuminating read and to that end, I've done the hard work and translated it for you, my dear readers.

Here is a link to a great article by Greg Lalas from Sports Illustrated about Oguchi Onyewu's success with Standard Liege in the Belgian League, and also the rumors that have surfaced about a move to a bigger club. MLS Statistics Reveal the Power of Numbers

5
Numbers are good for many things. For example, counting, measuring, and ranking Miss America contestants are just three of number's manifold, essential uses. Without numbers, the rules by which a society lives would have no merit. In fact, can you even imagine a world in which no one abided by the five-second rule? Click to continue reading...

Basketball would involve largely the same [. Click to continue reading...

Live Television is a Bitch

This is Jefferson Louis, a forward for Wrexham. Jefferson is the type of guy whose feet aren't connected to his brain. Tony Limarzi is excited

A lot of folks have commented on the fact that Santino Quaranta's second half goal against Colorado over the weekend was not nominated for the Goal of the Week (but, Joe Vide's did!). Unfortunately, Saturday's game was only broadcast on Altitute Sports, who didn't put a camera behind the north goal (as team's normally do) and thus didn't have the best angle to view Santino's dipping, swerving shot.
