Mexico isn't the only team enjoying a dominant Gold Cup.
Jamaica improved to 3-0-0 after a 1-0 victory over Group B challenger Honduras to clinch the top
spot in the group Monday night at Red Bull Arena. Jamaica didn't concede a goal in the group stage
and finished with a +7 goal differential.
1) The USA's loss to Panama is only their 6th in 51 Gold Cup games, and first in the group stage
(as you might've heard by now). Previously, they had only lost to Brazil and Mexico. Both the
Americans and the Mexicans now have six defeats each, though the USA have played three more
games.
2) Ominously for the US, no team has ever won the Gold Cup with a loss.
GOLD CUP: Surveying the Standings - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Heading into the final round of group stage games I thought it would be a good idea to survey
where the teams stand. While group A seems to be a foregone conclusion, groups B and C are much
less settled. Teams can still jump from third to first and change the landscape of the knockout
rounds.
Friday night's gold cup action featured Group B action with Jamaica facing Guatemala and Grenada
playing Honduras in Miami.
In the night's first match, Jamaica picked up a 2-0 victory against Guatemala thanks to a Demar
Phillips brace in the second half. With two wins in its first two matches of the tournament,
Jamaica has qualified for the quarterfinals and is proving to be the best Caribbean side in the
2011 Gold Cup.
Group B favorites Jamaica and Honduras each face one more test before their group-stage showdown,
and both could use victories Friday night to feel a bit more secure ahead of that final bout.
Group-leading Jamaica takes on Guatemala (7 p.m., Telefutura) fresh off a 4-0 pasting of Grenada
in its tournament opener.

complete — is Scholes. I have spoken with Xabi Alonso about this many times. Scholes is a
spectacular player who has everything.
