Today the Rapids announced that they had signed Hunter Freeman to a contract. As normal, terms and
length were not revealed but I'm sure we'll find that information out down the road. Freeman
started his career with the Rapids in 2005 before he was traded to NY before the season. Hunter has
some versatility to play in defense or midfield, but he's primarily an outside back.

U.S. defender Stephanie Cox took a ball off the face from an odd angle the other day and had to sit
out a few days with some eye issues. She returned to training on Thursday, but only with some
special glasses to protect the her eye.
While she got a bit of stick from her teammates, we think she's making a fashion statement, and in
fact she's talked about getting them tinted so not only can she look cooler, but perhaps a bit like
Dutch legend Edgar Davids.
A profile on Sacha Vander MostvanSpijk, former head of Youth Development at Chivas USA. He is now
involved in the deeply-flawed, money-spinning enterprise that is US Club Soccer. Seems like a cool
guy though. Nice video as well, much more easily digested than the spelling of his last name.
So what's your name anyway, sunshine? (AP Photo).
U.S. Soccer, at the request of coach Klinsmann, spells his first name "Jurgen."
The Associated Press uses his formal, given name, which is "Juergen," the spelling he uses on
legal documents.
Klinsmann himself spells it Jürgen, with two dots above the "u," as you can see on his official
website, which is the same way, incidentally, German media spell it.
New trialist in with the Timbers today: Alex Ingentovich (sp?). Serbian.
via @TimbersInsider from today's training session.
Anybody have a clue who he is? Google and Wikipedia turned up nothing which leads me to believe
the spelling it incorrect. However, it did lead me to this name: Alex Ignatovich, which is still
coming up empty.
On March 13, the Brotherly Game columnist Chris Savino wrote an article detailing the
Philadelphia Union's attempts to trademark the term "DOOP." It appears that the team and its
supporters group the Sons of Ben have butted heads over some of the team's directives on how it
will use the trademark.
After a few weeks of speculating who Philadelphia would get as a jersey sponsor the club
announced today that they have signed a $12 million deal with the Mexican food company Bimbo. The
deal will last for four years for the sophomore club.
With the sponsorship signing the Union become the thirteenth of 18 MLS teams to have a shirt or
jersey sponsor.
