Dimitar Berbatov, who was last season's top scorer in the Premier League, is disappointed with
how few games he's played this season, but claims he won't be speaking the media about his current
situation.
He has scored 7 goals in 10 league appearances this season but has spent most of the season as
fourth choice behind Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.
The Spanish giants Barcelona have been continually linked with a move for the Arsenal captain Robin
Van Persie, and the player himself has often stated that the only other club that he would like to
play for is Cesc Fabregas' team. So if the Flying Dutchman decides that he wants to move on this
summer [.
With Arsenal currently sitting 7th in the Premier League Table, it's now truly inevitable that
Robin van Persie will choose a new club come summertime, barring some miracle. Because it seems so
predestined, the notion doesn't trigger anxiety levels of Fabregas proportions in summers past,
where you just really didn't know what was going to happen.
Speculation intensified over the weekend about a potential swap deal involving Liverpool's Andy
Carroll and Manchester City outcast Carlos Tevez, and with the transfer window closing in about 15
hours, there's still time for a sensational (but improbable) deal to go through. Kenny Dalglish has
insisted that Carroll is going nowhere, but what is Roberto Mancini's take on the issue?
It's been rumored and speculated on since he pulled out of the re-entry draft, but today, Sporting
KC finally made it official. Luke Sassano has signed a new contract with Sporting KC. Sassano had
played in 9 league games last year in a season that was cut short by some injuries. Sassano had not
had his contract picked up and had gone into the re-entry draft.
Thank you to Arseblogger and his minions for posting this on Arseblog news today: a transcript of
an interview that Ivan Gazidis gave with Fox Soccer Channel yesterday.
I watched the interview, and attempted to live-tweet it, because I found what Ivan said revealing.
If I was going to sum-up his comments, I would use a term that Michael Lewis (of 'Moneyball' fame)
recently employed in his book about the small group of people who correctly predicted the collapse
of the Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) market in 2008: 'The Big Short'.
Sebastien Le Toux will not move to Bolton Wanderers, of the English Premier League, signaling
that his time in MLS has not yet ended. However, the Philadelphia Union may not be the club with
which Le Toux starts the 2012 MLS season.
A source close to the situation tells the Brotherly Game that the Vancouver Whitecaps have
inquired about Le Toux and have emerged as a candidate for a trade.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has dismissed suggestions that the club approached Manchester
City over the weekend with a proposal to swap Andy Carroll for exiled Argentine Carlos Tevez.
Carroll, who has struggled continuously with form and fitness since his £35 million move from
Newcastle United in last year's January transfer window, recently spoke about his determination to
make a mark at Anfield.
The Sebastien Le Toux has taken another turn, as the striker is apparently once again available
to Bolton Wanderers if a bid is tabled.
The Bolton News is reporting that the Philadelphia Union are open to selling Le Toux to the
Wanderers, but only "for a fair price." Bolton has been rumored to be waiting for other transfers
to finalize before moving onto a transfer for Le Toux.
Real Madrid midfielder Kaka has revealed that his future with the club has been assured by club
president Florento Perez and coach Jose Mourinho.
Kaka has struggled with injuries since joining Real Madrid in 2009, but has periodically
displayed his old skill in recent matches and had one of his best games games in a Real Madrid
shirt in Saturday's 3-1 win over Zaragoza.
With Liverpool set to face Wolves on transfer deadline day, there was always some worry on our
end as to how we'd manage to fit in both match coverage and any last-minute transfer insanity.
Turns out that the club and Kenny Dalglish were fully sympathetic to our concerns, as today the
official site put out a brief statement from Dalglish that under no circumstance will any new
senior players be brought in before midnight in Paris on Tuesday.
Despite what a quote attributed to Owen Coyle in Sporting Life says, Sebastien Le Toux is still
a transfer target for Bolton Wanderers, if the money is available.
Alan Nixon, of The People and Mirror Football, is reporting that Bolton is focusing mostly upon
wingers, but that Le Toux is still on the team's mind.
Fitness continued to be the focus for the Portland Timbers as they neared the end of their first
week of preseason training in 2012. The sun shone brightly on the turf and allowed some players to
shed their extra layers. Again the players participated in an 8v8 half field scrimmage after
warming up and doing a few drills, but the consistent theme throughout the session was keeping
everyone constantly in motion.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas insists that he is not the right man to discuss a potential
deal for Genk youngster Kevin De Bruyne and also feels that "certain issues" will prevent the club
from signing Brazil international Willian from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea's FA Cup visit to cross-town rivals QPR a fixture that Villas-Boas
desperately wants to win in order to get one step closer to silverware the Blues gaffer told
reporters that neither De Bruyne nor Willian were in his immediate plans.
Sebastien Le Toux's return to the Philadelphia area has taken another turn, as yet another media
outlet reports of a development concerning his possible transfer across the pond.
English sports news site Sporting Life reports that Le Toux did not impress enough to warrant
Bolton Wanderers pursuing a transfer.
Reports have been coming through today that a permanent deal for Giovani dos Santos could be
tied up before the weekend. There has been much speculation about Gio's future since the transfer
window opened and according to Villareal's vice-president Jose Manuel Llaneza, Gio's White Hart
Lane misery could soon be at and end.

The worst kept secret managed to be confirmed ahead of its own public announcement. The
Philadelphia Union will host the 2012 MLS All Star Game on July 25 according to multiple reports at
Philadelphia's City Hall today.
Jonathan Tannenwald of Philly.com's soccer blog, the Goalkeeper, is reporting that the event has
a start of 8 pm, with ESPN2 as the English telecast of the game in America.
Following the announcement by the Philadelphia Union that a press conference has been scheduled
for Tuesday at 11am to take place at City Hall in Center City Philadelphia, philly.com reports that
the Union will host the 2012 MLS All-Star Game at PPL Park.
The press release from the Union says that team CEO Nick Sackiewicz, MLS Commissioner Don
Garber, Chester Mayor John Linder and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter are all scheduled to be in
attendance.
As the Brotherly Game reported on Twitter Saturday night, it appears that Philadelphia will be
the host of the 2012 MLS All Star Game.
Philadelphia Union executive Rick Jacobs told a crowd of fans at the Sons of Ben Help Kick
Hunger event that there would be an announcement at 11 am at City Hall with MLS there as well.
Being blamed for some of the goals that Manchester United conceded in the last few matches,
David De Gea doesn't only lost his starting spot to Anders Lindegaard but might also be asked by
the club to do an eye operation.
According to the latest reports in England, the Red Devils are preparing a full-time optometrist
to treat De Gea, who is actually having a problem with his vision as he always wears glasses since
kids, only to replace it with contact lenses during matches.
It seems in recent days that speculation surrounding the future of Didier Drogba has intensified as
the same club who have signed Nicolas Anelka this month, have Didier Drogba in their sights
too!.
Shanghai Shenhua signed Anelka on a reported £200,000 per week and if reports are to be believed,
Didier Drogba could follow the Frenchman on even more money!

LOS ANGELES --It is official, David Beckham will be returning to MLS and it appears that he may
be staying for quite some time.
The Los Angeles Galaxy presented Beckham before a group of reporters on Thursday to announce his
new two-year-deal with the club.
Sebastien Le Toux will have a week to impress the Bolton Wanderer's coaching staff, according to
manager Owen Coyle. The Scot confirmed reports out of the United States that Le Toux was on his way
to Bolton on a trial ahead of a possible transfer.
"We have received good reports about Sebastian, so we thought we would give him an opportunity
to come into the group," said Coyle.
Kenny Dalglish has today confirmed that Liverpool are on the verge of signing 19-year old
Portuguese youngster Joao Carlos Teixeira.Speculation was rife about a deal yesterday but there was
no official confirmation. In his weekly press conference a few minutes ago, Kenny was asked about
Teixeira, and despite being his usual coy self, he confirmed that Liverpool were working on a deal:

Uncertainty over England international David Beckham's playing career is over after the 36 year
old signed a new 2 year contract with Los Angeles based LA Galaxy that will see him end his career
in the MLS.
There was a lot of speculation surrounding Beckham's future after his initial contract expired
at the end of last season.

At long last, the David Beckham sweepstakes is officially over, and the Los Angeles Galaxy are
the winners.
The league's original Designated Player signed a two-year deal with the Galaxy on Wednesday,
putting an end to a long-winded bout of speculation regarding his future.
Time to put on your thinking caps, or tinfoil hat if you prefer, and dive into an examination of
the Dynamo's current roster and salary cap situation. A few notes before we get started:
- This is based on the last MLSPA Salary information release from 9/1/11
- There is some speculation on my part concerning salary levels for new players.
The latest installment of disgruntled-fans-sell-overpriced-former-star-on-ebay has launched,
right smack in the middle of the January window, leaving some hope.
The gentleman in question is Amauri, man of more nationalities than goals for his current club,
Juventus. Fans saw fit to throw him onto ebay, where the bids got up to now sit down €10m.
Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has moved to clear up speculation linking his Australian defender
Rhys Williams with a move away from the club following links with a series of Premier League
outfits.
The likes of Liverpool, West Bromwich, Newcastle and Bolton have all been reported to be keen on
the 23-year-old Socceroo but Mowbray insisted they weren't pondering letting him go.
It's going to be a busy week for KC in the last week of the offseason. There's plenty of
information that looks like it will be coming out this week. Let's take a look real quick
chronologically.
Tomorrow, as I posted earlier today is the Supplemental Draft. KC will possibly add 5 more players
that would be coming into preseason this year.
There's just under two weeks to go before the January transfer window closes and whilst it has been
a quiet month so far on the Sky Sports transfer tracker, with all the speculation brewing and the
needs of clubs becoming ever apparent as their seasons hang in the balance, don't be surprised to
see the [.
Manchester United and Liverpool have made enquiries about Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, but
have been told the teenager is not for sale.
Eagles boss Dougie Freedman has put together an exciting young squad, with 19-year-old forward Zaha
the cream of the crop.
Palace moved to offset a potential January exit by tying Zaha to a long-term contract, but that has
not stopped the speculation.

As expected Gary Cahill has completed his £7 million move to Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers,
apparently being given a contract worth £23 million.
In another quite interesting piece of speculation, Tottenham Manager Harry Redknapp has denied that
the club are willing to swap Luka Modric for Fernando Torres at Chelsea.
There's news today that Lyon left back Aly Cissokho is on his way to join Newcastle United. Aly
Cissokho on his way to Newcastle for a medical? Maybe the reason for all the speculation is that
the 24-year-old, who has one cap for France, has been left out of the Lyon squad for their [...]
Over the last week, The web has been awash with spurious rumours about beleaguered striker Andy
Carroll returning to Newcastle. Kenny Dalglish angrily refuted the speculation earlier in the week,
and now, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has publicly condemned the false rumours floating around
about the 35m striker.
Kenny Dalglish admits he is in a position to be able to add to his Liverpool squad if required, but
says he has no plans to dip into the market at present.
The Reds took in a busy summer on the transfer front, with a number of fresh faces brought into
Anfield.
Dalglish is happy with the business he was able to carry out during that window, with Liverpool
having returned to the top-four hunt in the Premier League this season.
