videos I am posting today are from small leagues or clubs

Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League has come and gone as the continent were treated to two days
of riveting football, spectacular goals and some aesthetically pleasing matches. But what things
did we learn most from the first spate of matches? Read on and find out. Of course so many
conclusions could have been [.
It will probably come as little surprise that after banging the drum for Mike Fucito to see more
playing time that we are projecting him to start on Saturday against FC Dallas. Unlike the umpteen
preveious times we projected him to be in the starting lineup for the Seattle Sounders, we actually
think that he'll be there this time.
It's amazing what happens when you have a midfielder like Sanna Nyassi who barely gets anything
in sixteen games, yet when a certain side comes to visit Dick's Sporting Goods Park it looks like
that they would make you look like a world class player. That's what the Gambian did to the New
York Red Bulls as he put on a clinic and showed his speed.
While not quite the famous USA 1 - Columbia 0 from 1994, this was a good win by the USA women and
showcased some spectacular goals. Special mention for Heather O'Reilly's screamer to open the
match. Well worth a few minutes of your time.
In yesterdays U-21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL, Spanish midfielder & FC Barcelona player THIAGO

Thiago goal for Spain in their 0 - 2 victory over Switzerlamd in the final. Thiago was later named

There were a number of spectacular goals in MLS Week 13, and on any given week, the efforts by
Brek Shea, Alan Gordon and Osvaldo Alonso, among others, might be in the running for Goal of the
Week.
This past week, though, two strikes stood out above all others.
Here is a VIDEO of all 40 Goals scored by REAL MADRID forward CRISTIANO RONALDO in his record
breaking season 2010 - 2011 in the Spanish Football League. The man scores them from all angles,
both feet, header... a real goal show. Enjoy!
Sad news for the Rossoneri as Andrea Pirlo who served their club so brilliantly for ten
seasons is moving on to Juventus. His Milan contract expires on June 30th and he's accepted a three
year contract to play for the Bianconeri.
Pirlo was one of the catalysts of the Milan attack who could change the outcome in a stroke with
a deceptively struck pile driver, wickedly curling free kick, or a perfectly timed long ball.
Often the most dangerous players are the inconsistent ones. Blessed with talent, they can have a
shocking performance one week then turn on the style next time out. Opposing teams never know what
to expect and sometimes Spurs in particular can be on the wrong end of things when they're on top
of their game (anyone remember Daniel Amokachi?
The Football Association has this morning revealed that a remarkable new concept known as
"Ronnie Radford Time" will be trialled during next season's FA Cup campaign. The FA have become
increasingly concerned with plummeting attendances in their premier cup competition and have
hastily drawn up proposals that could see the game of football significantly changed from round
three onwards.
Liverpool icon David Fairclough has likened Raul Meireles to former teammate Terry McDermott.
The Kop legend is a big admirer of Liverpool's No.4 and he has no doubt that playing the midfielder
in a central role will always bring out the best in him.
"Meireles is a class act, there's no doubt about that," Fairclough told Liverpoolfc.
Chelsea unveiled their shiny new expensive toys. Kenny Dalglish did not have to do so.
The best players on display were Martin Kelly, representing the future of Merseyside and Jamie
Carragher, the veteran center back. Then there was Roy Hodgson's parting gift of Raul Meirelles
arriving at Anfield unheralded but now on the vanguard of Liverpool's unmistakable revival.
The more I see of Raul Meireles, the more I like.
He is a player used to playing at a slower tempo in Portugal and who is having to come to grips
with the hustle of the Premier League.
But he is quickly figuring it out and is getting better for us by the week.
Most encouragingly, he has just added a couple of important, not to say spectacular, goals to his
game.
*** Five-time FIFA Women's World Player of the Year Marta is reportedly joining the Western New
York Flash, the club announced Wednesday. This means that the Flash will at least register some
spectacular goals before their eventual bankruptcy.
***FIFA announces rights agreements with Al Jazeera.
Remember this ex-Real Madrid Brazilian player? Roberto Carlos is still doing his tricks: Perhaps
Real Madrid should call Roberto Carlos back for the Number Nine spot. Sure he can do it well
Fabulous goal scored by Villareal midfielder CANI against OSASUNA in yesterdays Round 19 La Liga
