On Friday, Florida Southern (8-5-0) was able to get three goals past Spartan keeper, Kendall
Bourdon, in the opening twenty-two minutes and then sit on that 3-0 lead until full time. The UT
(5-7-1)defense was able to recover after the opening barrage and only gave up one shot after going
down the three goals, however, the Spartans were not able to get any goals back.

UT coach Adrian Bush was able to rest several regular starters in this afternoon's match against
Webber International and still keep his team unbeaten in 2009. Leading assist man, Dan Ingvarsson,
goalkeeper Ryan Thompson, and Brian Fekete all started the eight previous matches but were give the
afternoon off.

The Spartans (6-0-1) will play two non-conference road games in as many days starting with today's
match with Palm Beach Atlantic (5-3-1) and then continuing with Webber International on
Wednesday.
The difficult stretch will test a UT team that is riding high after a victory of the number one
ranked Lynn University on Saturday night.

The Spartans (3-5-1) have just completed a three game stretch against nationally ranked opponents.
All on the road. All losses. In those three games, UT was outscored 8-2 and shut out twice. Today's
match against Georgia College (5-3-1) is the fifth straight road match for Tampa and might prove
difficult for UT to break their losing streak.

Columbus State University (6-0-1) scored two first half goals and then a third in the second half,
to defeat UT 3-0. The Spartans (3-4-1) fell to their second straight nationally ranked opponent on
Sunday.
UT was out shot 10-5 in the match and only managed to get one of their shots on the Cougar goal.

The twenty-second ranked University of West Florida (4-1-1) was unable to upset the Spartans, but
they were able to slow them up. UT (4-0-1) drew 1-1 with the Argos in Pensacola. West Florida's
leading scorer, Jay Mainville, scored his fifth goal of the season to give the Argos a first half
lead.

wins last week and an overall 4-0-0 record. The Bulls now are now ranked number four in the nation
by the NSCAA.
Meanwhile, in the NSCAA Division II poll, the UT men (4-0-0) maintained their hold on the top spot
by staying unbeaten last week.

The 2-1 scoreline on Sunday didn't indicate the dominant performance that was expected by Tampa in
their victory over Warner University, but the Spartans did in fact control the match. UT (4-2-1)
out shot Warner 24-4 and had fourteen corner kicks in the match as the host tried to keep the
Spartans at bay.

UT's sudden hot streak (two shutout wins, twelve unanswered goals), Warner, a NAIA program, looks

NSCAA poll released today. The Spartans were the preseason number three, but moved into the top
spot after the first week of play.

The Spartan women have yet to taste victory this season after falling 3-2 to Tusculum College
(2-1-0) on Friday. Sophomore goalkeeper Kendall Bourdon made five saves in the first half, but gave
up three goals as well. Two of Tusculum's goals came in the first thirteen minutes of the game.
UT (0-2-1) fought their way back into the match with a seventeenth minute goal from Jazmin Perry,
her team-leading second goal of the season.

The first regular season NSCAA Division II poll is out, and the Spartan men (1-0-0) have risen from
third in the preseason poll, to first overall in the new poll. This was by virtue of their victory
over Florida Memorial last Thursday.
The only other Sunshine State Conference school to be ranked in the top twenty-five is Lynn
University.

Both the USF and UT women kicked off their regular season campaigns at home yesterday, with the
Bulls getting a win and the Spartans settling for a draw.
UT (0-0-1) tied North Georgia 2-2 by allowing two late goals by the Saints (0-1-1). The 24th ranked
Division II school in the country, UT out shot the visitors 20-7, but saw their lead slip away as
North Georgia was able to convert on a couple of their handful of shots.

On a rainy Thursday evening, both USF and UT men's teams were able to win at home as the collegiate
season is now in full swing with two games tonight and two women's matches Friday.
USF handled Stetson 3-0 in the Bulls' last exhibition match, in front of 430 supporters, before
starting the regular season next Tuesday against UCF.

AEK-Olympiakos, one of the most well known fixtures in Greek football. Unfortunately though, and as

Tonight's exhibition is the fifth installment of the Rowdies Cup, the annual contest between NCAA
Division I USF and Division II University of Tampa. The winner of the match receives the original
Tampa Bay Rowdies' 1975 NASL Soccer Bowl trophy to possess for a year, kind of like how the Stanley
Cup gets passed around.

The coaches' preseason poll for the Sunshine State Conference has been released and the St Leo
Lions are the top pick. The Lions finished fourth last season in the regular season conference
rankings, but went on to when the conference postseason tournament. St Leo stars their 2009 season
on the road August 31st at Webber International University.

men as the overwhelming favorite to be conference champions in 2009. The Spartans received 14 of 18
possible first place votes.

The Big Ten Conference has announced their 2009 Big Ten Network soccer schedule, and the
University of Minnesota will be on display twice.
The first action on Big Ten Network for the Golden Gophers will be on Sunday, September 27Â
when they travel to Champaign, Ill.
