The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team tied York College, 0-0, in a thriller at
Spartan Stadium on Saturday in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles move to 5-5-3 on the
season, and 3-1-2 in league play.
The Spartans held a 15-12 edge in shots, and a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
For the third time in seven years, Madison Memorial and Middleton shared the Big Eight
Conference prep boys soccer championship.
Senior Pat Surtees scored on a header in the 78th minute as the Spartans rallied past
host Middleton 3-2 in a conference finale Tuesday night to finish tied with the Cardinals atop the
standings at 8-1-0.
Reading United fans may have noticed the absence of Brian Ownby in the team's 5-1 victory of the
Central Jersey Spartans. Ownby, along with Reading and University of Virginia teammate Will Bates,
is currently on a 10-day trial with Swedish team Mjällby. Mjällby plays in Sweden's first
division, the Allsvenskan, and currently sits in thirteenth place in the standings.

Reading United scored four second half goals in route to a 5-1 victory over the visiting Central
Jersey Spartans. United midfielder Lasse Sohrweide contributed a goal and two assists in an
efficient thirty minute shift to help maintain Reading's position atop the Mid-Atlantic table.

The Missouri Class 2 Playoffs continue with the Final 16 (Sectionals) today. The local
representative are the Logan-Rogersville Wildcats who defeated Marshfield to earn their first ever
District title in their third year of existence.

noted, they have the best offense with Jonna Welch and Sarah Magana but Harrisonville has four

Crocker Lions, Senior Boys Fall 2010
A trio of boys, all part of the Crocker Lions squad that reached the Final 4 as freshman in 2008
(Catholic's first year as a boys program when New Covenant won the District and lost in the
Quarterfinal to Crocker) will continue their careers for Missouri-based schools.
Liverpool escaped Europa League exit at Anfield as Dirk Kuyt finally found the net with only
minutes to spare against Sparta Prague.
The approach and attitude from Liverpool was good, pass, move, go forward, attack the opposition at
all times and the defence was comfortable with everything the Spartans had to throw them.
