Quem é este mediano ex-jogador que nas décadas de 70 e 80 representou clubes como Ajax,
Antuérpia, Sparta de Roterdão ou AZ Alkmaar?

"He's been waiting for this moment his entire life. He's just minutes away from hoisting up
the trophy of his dreams. Holland has stayed up all night to watch their beloved Dutch maestro make
history. They said it was impossible. Hell, I said it was impossible.
All around the globe, soccer clubs are nearing the end of their pre-season and looking towards the
2011-2012 campaign. Trinidad's 1st division club, T&T Highlanders FC is no different. We profiled
them earlier this year in an installment of the Eat Soccer News Page. This is the first year for
the T&T Highlanders, and we caught up with their owner, James Baird to find out more about their 3
ingredients for success this season.
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands Ajax have completed their swoop for FC Twente ace Theo Janssen in a reported
€3million (£2.6m) deal. The 29-year-old, a key performer for Twente this term, has joined the
Eredivisie champions on a two-year contract, with the option for a third year. Janssen, voted
player of the season by Dutch newspaper De [.
The Europa League will have a much higher profile this season with the likes of Manchester
United, Manchester City, Sporting Lisbon and Valencia all playing in this seasons tournament.
On Friday the draw for the round of 32 and round of 16 matches will take place. The pot is
divided into two.
After the scintillating brilliance of our performance v Man Utd on Sunday, it was back to the
mid-table, Roy Hodgson style mediocrity of a soul-less and dispiriting performance against Sparta
Braga.
A 1-0 defeat was a bit harsh on this Liverpool team, yet it was scarcely more than the team
deserved.

Just enough. Barely. But just enough will do.
There were a lot of similarities to the last leg except where it counts, in the result. Liverpool
deployed a similar 4-2-3-1 formation, with key players still absent.

With the resumption of league matches on Sunday after a two-week respite, pre-match questions
remain the same.
Liverpool's more adventurous approach under Kenny Dalglish is paying dividends, and Daniel Agger
believes it could lead to European glory.
The Reds ground out a ‘Liverpool of old' goalless draw against Sparta in Prague last week, and
will look to finish off the job at Anfield on Thursday.
But whilst, defensively, the Reds look a different proposition these days, Agger says it's not all
about the lads at the back.
After his five-star FA Youth Cup show, Raheem Sterling helped Liverpool under-18s make it six of
the best with a 4-1 victory over Stoke City at the Kirkby Academy on Saturday.
Rodolfo Borrell's side made it six wins in a row and stretched their unbeaten run to nine matches
as they continue their quest for honours on two fronts.
Liverpool secured a 0-0 draw against Spartak Moscow last night as they look to secure progress into
the last 16 of the Europa Cup. Defending resolutely throughout, Kenny Dalglish's first foray into
European football as manager of Liverpool wouldn't have been as he had pictured it, but a clean
sheet will give his side enough [.
BRUSSELS, Belgium —Three-time winner Liverpool was fortunate to leave Sparta Prague with a 0-0
draw in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 match, but fellow former champions Ajax, FC
Porto and CSKA Moscow emerged with away wins on Thursday. Kenny Dalglish's first European match in
charge of the Reds was a dull affair [.

Liverpool's won a lot of two-legged ties with 0-0s away from home. Nonetheless, this was
emphatically boring, dour bordering on unwatchable for long stretches. While the result puts
Liverpool in a fine position for the second leg at Anfield and the side were missing a few crucial
players, it's still disappointing to see such a sub-par performance and ostensible lack of
ambition.
Kickoff from Generali Arena at 20:05 GMT, 3:05 EST.

His former coaches think 16-year old wonderkid Raheem Sterling development as a footballer is at
the same level as Wayne Rooney at the same age. Raheem has been likened to Arsenal's Theo Walcott
but it is said Sterling is even better than Walcott. A fast, pacey attacking midfield player who
can "pass, shoot, head, score goals, tackle, defend" according to his Steve Gallen of QPR.
GRONINGEN, Netherlands Eredivisie high-flyers FC Groningen had to come from behind to get past SC
Genemuiden and book their place in the quarter-finals of the KNVB Beker. Florencio Cornelia gave
the third-tier side a shock lead midway through the first half but Groningen showed their class by
turning the game on its head before [.
