Boxing Day, Wrexham, who are now owned by their supporters, made the relatively short trip to
Shropshire to play another supporter-owned team, AFC Telford United, and over four thousand people
turned out at New Bucks Head for the match.

decision that will have ramifications throughout the non-league game. Southport, who finished in
fourth from bottom place in the league and were to be relegated into the Blue Square North for next
season, will be reprieved and Hertfordshire club Bishops Stortford, in one of those quirks that is
always possible in a regional system, seem likely to be shifted into the Blue Square North.
In the past ten days Burscough Football Club have seen their chairman and secretary sacked, a
groundshare with their rivals announced and seen their Supporters' Club disown them and make plans
to form a new, independent club. Yet just under 12 months ago the club were proudly announcing the
dawn of a new era.
