At least the MLS Supplemental Draft day contained something last Thursday's SuperDraft did not:
Multiple trades.
Hours after the completion of the Tuesday's proceedings, the Seattle Sounders and Real Salt Lake
agreed to one deal, while the Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps agreed to another.
The Chicago Fire may be on a three game win streak, but as things stand, the 2011 season has
failed to live up to the Fire's high expectations. Frank Klopas must take the brunt of the blame
for the Fire's failures to date this season. Now before anyone jumps down my throat I want to point
out that as it stands, the Fire are almost certainly not going to make the Playoffs and are playing

Good Monday morning to everyone. The big news this weekend for the Sounders was the Cascadia
Summit. The highlights of the event where claimed by the supporters whom came out from all three
cities to support their teams with passion and class. The front offices of both teams should be
encouraged for when the games for the Cascadia Cup begin.

Certain college programs are associated with certain coaches in MLS. Here we are used to Sigi
Schmid picking UCLA or other southern California kids. FC Dallas has gotten used to their coach
picking guys from Southern Methodist University. In both cases this is because the coach used to be
there. The Seattle Sounders went a little off the board with their 2nd pick, when they picked Juan
Cruz out of SMU.
From January 3-9, I'll be in Ft. Lauderdale taking the NSCAA Premier Diploma. Check in
throughout the week as I'll be blogging from the course and as always, tweeting at @vandey01. On
the eve of the course, I'm excited to to learn who my staff instructor will be. Here are the
options:
Dave Saward – Men's Head Coach; Middlebury College, Vt.
