The Big East happens to be an earlier starter when it comes to the postseason tournament. The
first round took place midweek, and while it's too early to pronounce some of the results as
upsets, DePaul managing to squeak into the quarterfinals comes as a slight surprise -- the Demons
drew 2-2 at Georgetown before winning on penalties.

I weep for the Newcastle fans who have to put up with this execrable name. How about
MikeAshleydumbass@StJames'Park while we are at it?
I remember living in Miami when they renamed Joe Robbie stadium, home of Miami Dolphins as Pro
Player Stadium which I thought was soulless but inoffensive.

Upsets continue to be a common occurrence in college soccer this fall. Just when one team makes
a jump up the rankings, they'll face a tough or surprising opponent. This time it was No. 9 Duke,
who had made strides in the rankings after upsetting then-No. 2 Maryland. Duke received a taste of
their own medicine on Tuesday night.

On Sunday afternoon, Mallori Lofton-Malachi [left] and the South Florida defense did what now other

night. Cincinnati (7-4-0) was scoring two goals a game on average before they met USF's defense. It
wasn't easy, but thanks to seven saves, including stopping a late penalty kick, Jeff Attinella
[left] recorded his fourth shutout of the year.

I decided to take a week off after Miami FC's season ended. But now I'm back and as promised here
is some more Miami MLS info. I'll start off with an anonymous comment made on the last post written
by Burrito below. It states that David Beckham is interested in starting an MLS team in Miami.
A source said: "Beckham does not want to go into management when his playing career
ends and is now focused on owning a club.

On Sunday, if the Bulls were all theatre majors, they would have been presenting an encore
performance of Friday's draw against Marquette. Get an early goal, but fail to put away your
opponent and let them hang around and get enough chances until they are able to score an equalizer.
Then the grand finale is to have your fans on the edge of their seats for twenty minutes of
overtime before settling for a tie.

The Bulls came back from a 2-1 deficit to tie the match and then win it in overtime on the road

USF's Chantelle Goodson scored her first goal of the season on a long range shot in the

It is said that you make your own luck. South Florida (4-0-1) certainly had ample opportunity to do
so in their first Big East Conference match of the season against visiting Marquette (1-3-1).

On a sticky, hot, humid evening, USF ended up with a much more competitive match than the records
