Darwin Jones was among the Seattle Sounders' recent cuts from preseason training camp, but that
doesn't mean he'll be going very far. The 19-year-old has joined the University of Washington's
2012 recruiting class, giving the Huskies four Sounders Academy products in this class alone. Jones
will be accompanied by Michael Gallagher, Ian Lange and Dominique Dismuke.
With the January camp behind us we take a look at the 21 players on the roster and give you our
winners, losers, and those that maintained the status quo.

Agudelo injured his right ankle during a scrimmage on Jan 13 and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.

Midfielder Sinead Farrelly has officially agreed to terms to return to the Philadelphia
Independence for the 2012 season. Farrelly was a standout at the University of Virginia where she
was a second team All-American and a Hermann Trophy finalist. The Havertown-native was
Philadelphia's first pick (second overall) in last season's draft.
The MLS SuperDraft is Thursday, January 12 at 12pm ET (ESPN2, ESPN3). The Philadelphia Union
have the 13th, 32nd and 35th picks this year, and nobody knows
what the team will do. PSP runs down some of the options.
Tony Cascio
What: Winger
Why: Some experts believe the Union will look to solidify their wing play by
adding a player like UConn's Tony Cascio.
After having an outstanding sophomore season at Florida State University, Kassey Kallman has
received yet another call to the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team. Kallman, a Woodbury, Minn.
native, was last called into a U-20 camp in April of 2011 when the team trained at Home Depot

One of college soccer's top attacking talents is headed overseas.
After not being offered a Generation adidas deal by MLS, University of Virginia winger Brian
"Cobi" Span signed with Swedish club Djurgarden on Tuesday. Djurgarden had also offered former
Akron and current GA striker Darren Mattocks a deal before he ultimately signed with MLS.

Zach Pfeffer was signed as the Union's first Homegrown player before the beginning of the 2011
season at the ripe old age of 15.
It didn't take long for Adam Cristman to realize that he was in the midst of something special
this year.

witnessed something he hadn't seen since his rookie year: the hallmarks of a team destined for

The story of this week is Yedlin, who continues to be a huge factor as a freshman on one of the

UCLA midfielder Kelyn Rowe knows a thing or two about trying to live up to high expections.
Rowe, who will have no shortage of professional options after his sophomore season with the
Bruins, starred for the United States Under-20 national team during its failed attempt to qualify

Heather MarikCHICAGO -- The Chicago Red Stars of the Women's Premier Soccer League announce the
additions of defenders Leigh Jakes (McDonough, Ga.) and Heather Marik (Naperville, Ill.) to the
team's roster for the 2011 season.
Jakes completed her tenure with Northwestern University last year.
The Class 1 Final 4 will open on Friday morning with an 11:00 am match between St Vincent and
Orchard Farm. The Springfield Catholic girls will take the field to defend their State Title at
1:00 pm on Friday, opening with a semifinal against Kansas City-based Pembroke Hill. I'm picking St
Vincent to advance to their second Final in three years where they will fall to Catholic for the
second year in a row.

additions to its 2011 roster.
Joining the Red Stars roster are University of Illinois forward and Naperville, Ill., native
Vanessa DiBernardo; University of Illinois forward and Homer Glen, Ill., native Shayla Mutz;
Indiana University forward and Barrington, Ill.
PORTLAND, Ore.— The Portland Timbers announced today that they have acquired midfielder Sal Zizzo
from Chivas USA in exchange for allocation money. Timbers technical director/general manager Gavin
Wilkinson made the announcement. Zizzo, 23, marks his second season in Major League Soccer (MLS)
after contributing one assist in 10 games (1 start) with Chivas USA in [.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri State women's soccer head coach Rob Brewer announced today that he
has six commitments from players to join the program for the 2011 season.
"We have some very athletic players with unique skill sets joining our team this season," said
Brewer. "The diversity in their abilities and the balance of attackers and defenders make these
players fantastic additions to our program.
I've gotten a couple of emails about the shifting sands of MLS conference alignment.

But honestly, I just cannot work up a good volley of indignation over this one.
After strengthening their defense with additions of Ryan Cochrane and Didier Domi so far this
off-season, the Revolution will likely turn to Thursday's SuperDraft to bolster its offense.
Holding the sixth overall the 2011 MLS Superdraft, the Revolution may need to look no further than
University of Maryland forward Jason Herrick.
The USA's 25-player camp that opened today features three players who received their first-ever
call-ups to the full team. All played in a youth Women's World Cup for the USA and all are at
different stages of their careers. Jordan Angeli (U-20s in Russia '06) had an excellent season with
the Boston Breakers during her rookie year, scoring seven goals, second only to Kelly Smith.
NEW YORK, NY No one can accuse Bob Bradley of cutting corners in his quest to find a striker who
can actually score goals. Now the search has extended all the way to Siberia. On Friday, the U.S.
Soccer Federation announced the late addition of Eugene Starikov, 22, to the national team's
California camp.
Zenti St Petersburg's Eugene Starikov has been added to the US National Team camp currently
training in Carson, California in advance of the January 22nd friendly against Chile. Starikov was
born in the Ukraine but spent his childhood in Florida playing his high school soccer in Palm
Harbor and staying in Florida by attending Stetson University.
