LUARA HAYRAPETYAN OF ARMENIA SINGS TO FC BARCELONA AT EUROVISION JR CONTEST 2009

Spanish Football & Sports 22 November @ 07:56 AM EST
Young Luara Hayrapetyan representing Armenia came in runner-upyesterday at the EUROVISION JR contest with her song BARCELONA:She & her team dressed the FC BARCELONA outfit & poured theirhearts out to lovely & catchy tune. Perhaps the Spanish Club should consider Laura as a pre-match "Classic" Barça vs Real Madridperformance at "Camp Nou" next Sunday. Click to continue reading...

Dimmed At Stadium of Light

Where is the marking?

Disappointing would be the best word to summed up tonight's game. The team lacked cohesion, tenacity and showed no real desire to win the game. One could argue that after almost 2 weeks away from each other and barely had the oppourtunity to train as a team lead to the dispirited display.

Can Eduardo really fit these boots & All our players are attracted forward

Gunners Today 17 November @ 03:18 PM EST

With RVP unavailable for a while, predictably, the consensus is that Eduardo will take the baton from the Dutchman. However, the way the media has chosen to focus on Eduardo is almost as if the guy has next to zero credibility compared to Robin.

Admittedly, the Croatian hasn't been at his best (considering he is 26, I suppose we should wait another year at least for that).

Vintage Arsenal Goal

4-1 is may have been the final result but judging from the opening 20 minutes of the game, it would be rather hard to envisaged that scoreline. Credit to Wolves and McCarthy for their game plan as they came out firing on all cylinders and chose to take the game to us rather than just contend to defend.

Kids to play tomorrow? Not quite, an Aquilani revelation of sorts and predictions

Gunners Today 27 October @ 06:21 PM EST

Its Carling Cup time! The trophy that no big club wants to win, but if they win it they'll be happy to gloat about it anyway. Visions of Mourinho celebrating back in 2007 when they beat us in the final still make me sick.

Rafa's red revolution received a massive boost when they humiliated Utd on Sunday.

Defensive Naivety Strikes Again

Arsenal View From a Gooner 25 October @ 02:19 PM EST

Good start but even Van Persie couldn't have guess the final outcome

I'm beginning to think that I curse the players. Since I've been effusively praising a certain player or a certain combination, there's bound to be something that went wrong with them in the said match. The Diaby-Song combo did not work well tonight.

The formidable midfield duo

Upton Park is where our focus is today. Gianfranco Zola's West Ham faces exactly the same turmoil as Arsenal's previous opponent, AZ Alkmaar, financially stuttering that is.They have sold close to 10 players since last year just to offset some of the monetary difficulties but have kept virtually the core of the team in Robert Green, Matthew Upson, Scott Parker, David Noble and Carlton Cole.

AZ thoughts/App review

East Lower 21 October @ 04:20 PM EST

Points dropped, not a big deal

I was very close to lauding Alex Song to the heavens last night when he dropped his guard as to be honest did the rest of the Arsenal defence in the 93rd minute, enabling AZ Alkmaar to equalise.

He did have a terrific game, but he's not the polished gem we would yet have him to be, even though his improvement has been spectacular.

The Lost Art Of Non-Defending

Arsenal View From a Gooner 21 October @ 03:40 AM EST

Something unbelievable happened yesterday. Did Arsenal win the encounter at DSB Stadion? No, they didn't. Did AZ Alkmaar managed to overcome the financial disparity and obvious difference in squad strength to upset the odds and defeat Arsenal? No, they didn't either. It ended 1-1 and turns out to be a real shocker as it was Arsenal's first ever drawn game this season.

Who you voted as our man of the match & Post match thoughts based around it

Gunners Today 18 October @ 11:19 AM EST

A big thank you to all who took part in the poll. I really needed your help as I couldn't decide who our best player was. At best I could have narrowed it down to 3 but no further.

The Poll is now closed and I have the results. (I sound like an X factor presenter!). The player you voted as our man of the match is.

7 In A Row is A Finely Tuned Song

Arsenal View From a Gooner 17 October @ 03:53 PM EST

I can't just let Vermy be the top scorer, can't I

It was the 7th consecutive win on the trot for Arsenal Football Club since the double losses to both Manchester clubs. It was not the best of performance from the boys. Exciting and seemed to be cruising, then almost immediately allowed Birmingham back into the game until the 3rd goal arrived.

Thoughts on the Season So Far

The ArseNole 22 September @ 11:35 AM EST
Hello all. It's been a bloody month since I last posted, and I'm quite ashamed of it actually. Sometimes, when you write every day, you just get burnt out and feel like what you write isn't that interesting anymore and just don't really get in the mood to write very much. That's what happened to me, and I feel like I'm not doing my job as an Arsenal blogger when I go that long without writing. Click to continue reading...

Manchester City 4-2 Arsenal

Bit late in the day to add my tupp'orth about yesterday's match couldn't get anywhere near the pooter till now. Obviously, it's mostly about Adebayor, which is wrong, but there you go.

I only saw the stamp on Match of the Day last night.

20 talking points from the Eastlands game

Gunners Today 13 September @ 05:33 AM EST
1. 4-2 flattered Manchester City. Statistics showed we had nearly twice as many attempts on goal. We had 12 corners to City's 3. And we shaded possession as well.
2. However, City were clinical at a time when Arsenal were at their creative best, but defensively most fragile. Click to continue reading...

Motivated to the max

East Lower 29 August @ 02:45 AM EST

It might strike some people as surprising that, whilst on a football pitch career-threatening tackles still happen, players needle one another constantly and bully referees, there remain some things that are considered extremely bad form. For example, to showboat when you are winning comfortably is considered arrogant and to humiliate an opponent in this way wrong.

Lucky goals, but not lucky Arsenal

East Lower 19 August @ 01:02 AM EST

Celtic 0-2 Arsenal

Let's get something straight here: Arsenal's goals may have been a tad fortunate last night (a 'backer' from Gallas and an own goal from Gary Scoredwell), but Arsenal earned their luck and more than merited the first English success at Parkhead since 1983.

Thoughts on the Everton Match, Celtic Preview

The ArseNole 18 August @ 10:53 AM EST
Morning all, hope you're well. Been a bit busy over the last week or so so I haven't had much of a chance to write quality articles, and in my opinion it's better to post a few quality articles than post shite ones all the time.
What a start to the season we've had then, eh? I'll admit I was worried that we might draw or even lose at Everton to start the season. Click to continue reading...

Everton 1-6 Arsenal

Here I am again, eight days since I last fired up the blog. I've been away, breathing in deep gulps of bracing coastal air, and though I had access to a laptop and a broadband connection, I let the blogging go fallow. So no season preview seems a bit late now anyway.

Arsenal-Manchester United Reaction

The ArseNole 06 May @ 08:57 AM EST
Morning all. Well, it was pretty bloody awful wasn't it? This match is like Chlamydia, it's awful and disgusting and yet it just will not go away. While I'll admit to not being confident heading into yesterday, I was at least hopeful. I thought maybe we could at least get the first goal and give ourselves a chance to prove we could hold them off, but I was wrong. Click to continue reading...
