The Japan Football Association has confirmed that the world football body, FIFA, will donate about $6 million in aid to J-League clubs affected by the disastrous 11 March earthquake and tsunami. Several clubs, whose stadiums were damaged by the magnitude 9.0 earthquake and resulting tsunami, will receive $4.

Fifteen football stars will join Manchester United's Park Ji-sung in an Asian "Dream Cup" match against V-League club, Navibank SaiGon, in HCM City's Thong Nhat Stadium on 15 June. Korean Wave stars JYJ will perform during half-time and actress Han Hye-jin will attend. Park will also hold a clinic for young footballers.

The Australian state of Victoria is currently experiencing an immigration boom with many new settlers arriving, particularly from the Horn of Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan and Burma (including Karen people). Football Federation Victoria is providing a community integration program, United Through Football, to promote diversity and social connection through football.
