Minneapolis, Minn., – 02/06/2012 The University of Minnesota women's soccer team has announced
the 2012 signing class with the addition of six new student-athletes to the Gopher program. Head
coach Mikki Denney Wright has snagged five Minnesota preps stars in Ellie Arvesen, Mehan Bolton,
Elle Dykema, Kristen Knutson and Allie Reinke while also pulling in [.

CHICAGO -- Eclipse Select Soccer Club forward Paige Jarsombeck has announced her commitment to play
for Creighton University's women's soccer team. The Tinley Park, Ill., native and Andrew High
School junior will join head coach Bruce Erickson's Bluejays in 2013.
MLS Reserves will be hosting a music video contest in which fans will create a music video for
their favorite North American team. Choose your favorite North American soccer team (MLS, NASL,
USL, PDL, NPSL, etc) and create a music video tribute to them. You may use pictures or video from

Thierry Henry has been able to provide a spark for Arsenal in his brief time on loan with the

As part of Stumptown Footy's continuing offseason autobiographical series on how soccer explains
our lives, here's my very long story about my youth soccer playing days in Minnesota, stints in
Europe, and eventual connection with the Portland Timbers. It's the story of a lifelong search for
a soccer team to support, and all the stumbling blocks along the way.

be working with some of U.S. Soccer's top young players.

halved from 20,000 to 10,000, Roy Morgan found this week that Brisbane is the most watched (TV)
soccer team in the A-League. A shock for Melbourne Victory perhaps.

By just about any measure, it has been a good year for the UNC-Charlotte 49ers.
The little-known school of the Atlantic-10 dispatched defending champions Akron and scored in
the final five minutes against stingy UConn to steamroll their way into the College Cup.

A Costa Rican news outlet, Teletica Deportes, is reporting that Deportivo Saprissa will play the
Philadelphia Union in a summer friendly during the 2012 MLS season. Deportes says that the Union
areed to play Saprissa as part of the two teams' transfer that ended with striker Josue Martinez

Stanford's women's soccer team has completed its climb up the NCAA ladder. Finally.
After falling in the national title game in each of the last two seasons, Stanford held off Duke
to capture the 2011 title with a 1-0 victory in Kennesaw, Ga.
A pair of Wisconsin players teamed up for the goal that sent the Creighton men's soccer team to
the NCAA College Cup.
Junior midfielder Andrew Ribeiro (Green Bay Notre Dame) ripped a shot from outside the
box in the 97th minute that was deflected by a defender and found its way to Ethan Finlay
(Marshfield).
The U.S. WNT was right smack in the middle of training today when the final whistle blew at the
2011 NCAA College Cup, giving the Stanford Cardinal its first NCAA title in women's soccer. That
didn't stop Stanford Alumni and WNT regulars Kelley O'Hara and Rachel Buehler from hearing the
score right away and sharing high fives and a big hug.

This past Sunday South Florida Soccer fans met up at Mickey Byrnes Irish Pub in Hollywood to watch
