'Til the season for some great soccer gear deals and coupon codes. With Christmas, Black Friday and
Cyber Monday either here or around the corner, the sales, discount codes and free shipping deals
from our favourite soccer and rugby megastores are popping up. Here are the ones that are running
over the next few days.
Exciting new soccer brand Pelé Sports has launched its Fall / Winter 2011 collection. Known for
its innovative designs, quality products and appreciation for soccer history (particularly as it
pertains to the great Pelé), Pelé Sports is quickly becoming popular with soccer gear lovers
worldwide. As temperatures drop for many of us, here is a [.
Of all the people on the train, the one I wanted to talk to the most was the middle-aged man
with the graying goatee, traveling with wife and two children. He and his son were wearing Chelsea
jerseys. It's not rare to see folks around Chicago in soccer gear, but considering this train and
most of its occupants were heading toward Soldier Field, where Manchester United were to take on
the Chicago Fire, those two bold blue shirts stuck out.
Compression clothing is now standard soccer gear from tops to shorts worn under uniforms. While
many players are now familiar with Under Armour, Nike and adidas baselayers, Australian brand SKINS
(now available at World Soccer Shop) offers another alternative for those seeking every possible
advantage on the field.
The Miami Soccer Festival will be this weekend Saturday July 30th and Sunday July 31st. It's a non
profit soccer event. All net proceeds are distributed jointly by co-organizers ‘Soccer 5
Foundation' and ‘Miami Dade Parks Foundation' to promote more spaces to play soccer and more
places to learn soccer within our community.
*Chivas USA have confirmed for the first time that the club is studying "three or four" options
to move elsewhere in Los Angeles County and out of Home Depot Center.
The news doesn't come as much of a surprise. The only way for an MLS club to turn a profit is to
have complete control of all revenue streams at the facility it plays in and right now as a tenant
of Anschutz Entertainment Group in Carson that's not the case for Chivas USA.
Still enjoying the holiday, but last week we talked about buying soccer gear through individual
team websites. Should be back live tomorrow, but here is post we put up in January of 2010 about
shopping through third party sellers. Is the above investigation still valid?
Last week we started our series on the business of selling MLS and WPS merchandise online.
Over the years we have continually maintained the value of a good shopping experience at both
the league stores and individual team stores online. These stores represent an ongoing point of
contact between the teams and their fans, and the goods they sell become walking advertisements for
the franchises they signify.
Soccer USA in Burnsville will be holding a passback charity drive the weekend of June
24th, 25th, and 26th.
The Passback Program is a cornerstone of the U.S. Soccer Foundation-the major charitable arm of
soccer in the United States. Through the Passback program, new and gently used soccer gear is
collected and then redistributed across the globe to help under-served communities enjoy the most
beautiful game on the planet.
A message from former MLS player (Dallas) and great person Chris Gbandi:
I wanted to share this important message with all of you. As some of you know, I've been working on
an iPhone app for the past couple of months that will be coming to the app store any minute now.
Iconic U.K. soccer gear firm Umbro has launched a new retro-styled line called the Diamond Icons
range. As part of its the collection kick-off, Umbro has recruited several tattoo collector models
including professional soccer players Darren Bent (Aston Villa and England) and Juan Manual
Vargas (Fiorentina and Peru).
UK-based soccer gear firm Umbro has officially released the follow-up to its much-vaunted Umbro
Stealth with the Umbro STII (or Stealth II) soccer boots. Everton fans may be familiar with the
STII boots as they've been worn by Toffees' and England defender Phil Jagielka over the past few
months. According to Umbro: The latest addition to Umbro's [.
I saw this link earlier and boy did it get passed around twitter like crazy. I finally got time
this evening to talk about it and post the images from it. Someone out there had some mad photoshop
skills and did some NFL team's soccer kits.
Honestly these are all great. My favorites are St. Louis, Buffalo, and Green Bay.
