On the latest edition of the Major League Soccer Talk Podcast : This Week in US Soccer ... your
hosts Chris Webb and Chris Riordan provide a view of the beautiful game from an American and
sometimes regional perspective. Top billing on the show is of course devoted to the revolving
door of US Soccer coaches, as Bob Bradley's departure makes way for Jurgen Klinnsman's much
anticipated and awaited arrival.
The US Soccer Federation has just announced that Bob Bradley's tenure as coach of the Men's
National Team has ended. To say that this comes as a bit of a surprise would be quite an
understatement; though there was a great deal of speculation in the days after the USMNT's loss to
Mexico in the Gold Cup final that the game might cost Bradley his job, such an announcement would
be expected to come within a few days (at most) of the game.

SPANISH SPORTS daily "Sport" has an interesting article today that I thought may interest readers.
They take a look at the highest earners in World Football-Soccer from the angle of Coaches .
Highest Paid World Football Soccer Coaches source: Sport.es What catches the eye & motivated the
press story is the number two spot now under Diego Armando Maradona.
- Jason Davis John Spencer, the fiery Scottish head coach of the Portland Timbers, is, at the most
understated end of the spectrum, expressive. On the sidelines, he's nonstop action; a whirling,
cursing, maelstrom of a man alternatively exhorting his charges and berating the referees,
adequately meeting every generalized notion of Scottish soccer coaches to which a wide-eyed
American soccer public ascribes.
The Missouri Soccer Coaches poll for the Class 3 Central Region, including Districts 9 and 10,
has been released. The Lakers now carry the burden of being the favorite going into the District
playoffs. Rock Bridge has been seeded #1 in District 9 but we are still waiting for the District 10
seeding.
Wisconsin high school soccer coaches will be allowed unlimited contact with players during the
summer, after the WIAA membership voted Wednesday to grant the sport the same rights previously
given to coaches in nine other sports.
The amendment to the WIAA the Rules of Eligibility was passed by a 183-117 margin at the
organization's annual meeting in Stevens Point – two years ago, the same amendment was defeated
by a 130-173 vote.

Mike Trudell of Lakers.com on the influences of legendary Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil
Jackson-
When asked if other coaches in various sports have contacted him to inquire about his methods or
whatever, Jackson said that certainly many have. He listed some (like Joe Girardi of the New York
Yankees, Brian Billick formerly of the Baltimore Ravens and many more), and I actually wrote an
article on March 16 detailing how one of the world's greatest soccer coaches, José Mourinho, was
reading his books and how Jackson's philosophies and style made sense when compared to the game of
soccer.
Just wanted to give you all an update on future developments here the the
soccercoachingblog.com.
I am absolutely thrilled by the response to the three Soccer Coaches' Shows we have posted so
far. It is very humbling to see that people are visiting this blog and answering questions and
asking for help and advice.
Any conversation that discusses the great coaches and managers has to include Jose Mourinho.
Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated writes of not only where Mourinho rates among soccer coaches in
the world today, but among coaches of all sports.
Where does Mourinho rank among the world's soccer coaches?
With the 2011 MLS season around the corner, Michael Lewis writes about the lifespan of the Major
League Soccer coaches this year.
In less than two weeks, a new Major League Soccer season will be upon us. Which coaches will march

Ricki Herbert has reached the top of the soccer coaching ladder after a 20-year climb.
Herbert this week learned he had been appointed to the panel of instructors and lecturers for
the sport's world governing body's Courses.
The Fifa appointment, which took effect on January 1 this year, means Herbert joins 29 other
soccer coaches on the panel.
Marquette's Stan Anderson once again was named to College Soccer News' annual
listing of the country's top assistant men's soccer coaches.
Anderson, a former standout goalkeeper at UW-Parkside, is in his fifth season with the Golden
Eagles working with head coach Louis Bennett – the two previously were at
UW-Milwaukee for 10 seasons.
