It was a proud moment for Canadian soccer fans when they took the Group A lead after a 2:2 tie
with Costa Rica July 10th, 2009. The CONCACAF Gold Cup match bests the soccer skills of North and
Central American Countries (basically N.America).
The Canadian national team will not head to Philidelphia where they will play in the Gold Cup
quarter-finals that will take place next week.

What was with the end of that match? Calling the game in the middle of a breakaway? Next to just
before a PK, that is the most absurd time a ref could possibly call a game in soccer. If you
watched the game from your home (at least the part that made it on the air), you heard a lot of
complaining about inconsistent officiating, but over all, it seemed pretty normal for MLS.

Last evening in Montreal at Saputo Stadium Canada lost to Honduras and almost insured that Canada
will now miss its Seventh straight World Cup tallying up 28 years since Canada has appeared in a
World Cup.(Mexico 86 being the last)This news is stark in contrast to the reality that Concacaf is
one of the easiest federations to gain access to the Worlds most important sporting event.

Canada played an international friendly last night in Seattle before 50,000 people and acquitted
themselves well. The third goal was a nightmare allowed to an opportunistic Robinho but the same
DeGuzman who made the ill advised pass also scored a dandy from distance. We'll see if this helps
Canada in Concacaf qualifying?

I was listening to the Soccer show on the Fan 590 out of Toronto via podcast yesterday. Its a one
hour soccer show broadcast weekly on Thursday evenings. One of the guests was Canada's senior team
coach Dale Mitchell. He was asked by the Shows hosts Nigel Reed and Bob Iarusci why Canada's first

Canada and US play tomorrow for an Olympic qualifying spot.Because Canada is so limited in real
world competitions like the World Cup i am desperate to see them get any experience possible. So i
hope we can put some lead in our attack and defense and beat the US.
If we leave it up to Soccer Canada our squads will play 3 games a year two of which will be back to
back affairs against St.

Again it can be said that Massimo Morrati is no Bill Lumberg. To me he is a kind paternalistic
father who apologizes to his party guests when his crazy and drunk uncle pays a visit, the uncle who
then asks the ugliest women in the room "had she ever called suicide prevention? and was she put on
hold?" Poor Moratti has to follow him around apologizing cleaning up after him.

I have been posting about the current affairs of the Canadian soccer association and it's inability
to fulfill its mandate as a soccer organization. Last night Canada's U23 team was tasked with
playing Mexico in order to become one of two teams to qualify from Concacaf to qualify for the 2008
Olympics in Beijing.

Soccer Canada is a negligent landlord. Those are my words. What you will read from Nick Dasovic are
much more offensive. Nick Dasovic is Canada's under 23 coach and has been tasked with qualifying
for the 2008 Olympics.
Canada starts its Olympic qualifying this week for the Beijing Olympics.

Canada will attempt to qualify for the Beijing Olympics this summer. To do so they will have to
finish in the top two in a group with Mexico,Haiti and Guatemala. Poor Nick Dasovic Canada's head
coach has had only 10 days with a group selected from Europe and Canada. This group have never
played together, this according to assistant Coach Mark Watson.
