A quick update

The Offside - Arsenal 19 October @ 12:01 PM EST

Howdy folks. No, this isn't a mirage, but it's me. Tendering a quiet explanation as for my lengthy absence. I'm not really going to be posting here much do to time commitments and the need to be paid even a little bit for writing.

But since I got my first start here at the ol' Arsenal Offside, I wanted to drop by as I will be doing from time to time to do a bit of self-promotion and updates.

SA, Here We Come!

The Offside - LA Galaxy 11 October @ 08:13 AM EST

America! F$#& yeah!

With all the scoring coming in the second half, we have clinched World Cup Qualifying with a decisive 3-2 victory over Honduras.

See the highlights on ussoccer.com.

Guess who played one of the best games of his life? Ohhhhhhhh Landon Donovan!

I was up late last night (Virginia time) following the match on Twitter, I've only had one ounce of my 30 ounces a day coffee habit, and I'm watching my girls float Pop Tart and Band Aid wrappers over the banister as "parachutes," but I couldn't wait to come here and share my excitement.

A MASSIVE Win For the Crew

MLS Debris 09 October @ 10:06 PM EST
Update: Reader Dr. Chuck Pearson left a comment pointing me to the missing game. The Crew lost 2-0 to Saprissa in the one and only edition of the CONCACAF Giants Cup in 2001.
Last night the Columbus Crew became the first MLS team to beat CD Saprissa in Costa Rica. Soccer By Ives is reporting that it's the first time in seven tries for an MLS club, but I can only find six games at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa:
9/16/09 Saprissa 0, Crew 1
10/9/08 Saprissa 2, DC United 2
3/12/08 Saprissa 3, Houston 0
3/8/06 Saprissa 3, LA Galaxy 2
3/16/05 Saprissa 2, KC Wizards 1
4/14/04 Saprissa 2, Chicago 0
I think SBI might be mistaken, but if anyone can find the missing result, post a comment. Click to continue reading...

What’s Happening in Major League Soccer

Springfield MO Soccer 24 August @ 02:27 PM EST

Haven't had much to report regarding Major League Soccer recently, primarily due to the lack of positive results in Kansas City. Mama taught me that if you don't have something good to say, then shut up. Or something along those lines...

Regarding the Wizards, this is a pretty strong message from a major supporter, Down The Byline

Since scoring 3 goals in the first half against New England back on June 13th, the Wizards have scored 1 goal in the next 13 halves of soccer.

US Men’s National Team – Woah!

Springfield MO Soccer 27 July @ 09:42 AM EST

So, the usual suspects are commenting on Facebook about yesterday's 5-0 loss to Mexico. There are plenty of theories and thoughts about what the result means in the bigger picture World Cup 2010.

Me I think Mexico was a very enjoyable team to watch with their passing and finishing and the result reminded me of why I didn't get very excited following the US win in the Confederation's Cup over Spain.

College Soccer/PDL Success: Cody Arnoux Heading to England

Major League Soccer Talk 22 July @ 07:57 PM EST

Readers of this site know I don't typically post pieces on one particular youth prospect going abroad.
