The Philadelphia Union addressed a glaring need by adding a veteran center back with a successful history in Major League Soccer.

According to a report on FOX Soccer, by Ives Galarcep of Soccer By Ives, the Union acquired Bakary Soumare, formerly of the Chicago Fire. Soumare was a nominee for MLS Defender of the Year in 2008, when the Fire only gave up 33 goals in 30 games and finished second in the Eastern Conference.

Second half goals from Chivas USA forward Juan Pablo Angel, making his triumphant return to RBA, and Kenny F'ng Cooper saw a "share of the spoils", if you will.

Not only did the United States Men's National Team earn their first-ever victory over Italy (in Italy, no less), but the New England Revolution, fielding mostly reserves and trialists, conquered Real Salt Lake 2-1 and advanced to the Desert Diamond Cup Final. Furthermore, the US Women's National Team crushed Denmark 5-0, and the USA Olympic U-23 squad beat Mexico 2-0.
