Harry Keough - from Soccer America's Ridge Mahoney: But Harry's spirit, forged by decades playing
and coaching and working and raising three children, captivated.
Ridge Mahoney of Soccer America writes of the legacy of US soccer pioneer Harry Keough, who passed
away yesterday.
The first time I talked with Harry Keough about the 1950 World Cup defeat of England, three and
a half decades had passed, yet the details still swirled in his mind. Sights and sounds and smells
of the stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazil; the numbing boredom of a long boat trip from New York to
Brazil that took the team to the competition; the joking rivalry between the St.

Another week, another huge day for the LA Galaxy as they sign a new loan deal with Sao Paolo for
the services of central midfielder Juninho, one of the unsung heroes of their great 2011 season.
Their Words "Juninho is not going to be utilized at São Paulo per the coach's decision and the
club is accepting the loan deal for Juninho's return to Los Angeles to play for the Galaxy," Sao
Paulo spokesperson Felipe Espindola. Other Sources Is salary space an issue for Galaxy? Who knows?
- from Soccer America's Ridge Mahoney: The great unknown is, of course, allocation money.
Sometimes items from Soccer America can be a total miss but check out today's MLS Confidential
on the Galaxy. For anyone out there that couldn't get how the LA Galaxy was able to squeeze in
Edson Buddle to their salary cap, check this article out.
By bringing back Edson Buddle into the fold, even if he costs slightly more
than the $178,488 salary he earned in 2010 before leaving for Germany, the Galaxy probably hasn't
crunched its salary cap to any great extent, because of player departures as well as amassing
allocation money.

The U.S. women's national team won 14-0 over the Dominican Republic on Friday. Yes, the women's
soccer team won by that score. Amy Rodriguez scored five goals.
At halftime, Abby Wambach told her teammates to keep scoring in the Olympic qualifier, despite
being up 7-0, because goal differential can impact Olympic qualifying qualifying.
So, sitting here this afternoon thoroughly enjoying the Bundesliga back in action after an
interminable winter break, I have come across a series of stories that might just warm the hearts
of us Houston Dynamo supporters near and far.
First comes this excellent piece from Soccer America about Geoff Cameron in USMNT
camp.
Geoff Cameron has been a standout for the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer, and has not only
lead the Dynamo into the MLS Cup this past season, but also received a recent call-up to the US
National team.
His play is worthy of national team consideration, but it's his presence and positive attitude that
have been key components in his success.
Their Words "Speed is our main weapon. As our defence is pretty solid, when we play as a compact
unit, we can launch some pretty effective counter-attacks." Jamaica goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.
Other Sources Michael Bradley in Italy: ‘He's Bravissimo' - from The NY Times' Davidde Corron:
"All I've ever wanted to do is play well and give everything I have for the national team.
