Before David Beckham popularised this art, goals from the halfway line were spectacular but rare.
Since then, there have been more and more outrageous goals scored by really talented
footballers.
Just recently, a college university freshman from SMU scored a 95-yard goal which bounced over the
opposition goalkeeper and into net.

SMU Freshman hits 95-yard Soccer Goal @ Yahoo! Video
I live in America where soccer is still a second-string sport, but even the most controversial but
popular American sports blogs can't ignore this fluke goal from a college soccer player at Southern
Methodist University in Dallas, TX.

One thing I like to do before I go on any trip is make sure my place is decently clean for my
return. Well in the case of this past week for my wedding/honeymoon I was all prepared on that
level except for when it came to getting back in the swing of things for soccer stuff. I came back
into town this past weekend and saw a slew of random scores in Major League Soccer.

As we reported last week, or more specifically as Hernandez blabbed last week and we passed on, FC
Dallas has now offically signed ex-SMU and ex-Galaxy/Mutiny/MetroStars/Revs midfielder Daniel
Hernandez. Hernandez told season ticket holders last Wednesday that he was signing with the team,
so it's unclear what the hold up was on the deal.

Looks like Schellas Hyndman wanted another former SMU player on his roster...this is almost as
ridiculous as the Bruno Guarda trade, with the only real difference being that Ihemelu has at least
played in MLS.

After a run of good form, FC Dallas came back down to earth, falling 2-0 to the Columbus Crew. Once
again, a set piece situation was the downfall for Dallas as Vampire Dario (he fears the cross) fell
victim to a Chad Marshall header.
Comments about the match quickly fall by the wayside as the worst play-by-play man in sports, Brad
Sham, takes a beating from fans for yet another abysmal performance behind the microphone showing
he knows shit about soccer and should just stick to kissing Jerry Jones' ass.

Andre Rocha was just beginning to find his place in the FC Dallas midfield. On loan from FCD's
partner club Atletico Paranaense, Rocha had stepped up and notched six assists on the season,
leading the team in that category.
Then FC Dallas made a coaching switch.
Schellas Hyndman took over for Steve Morrow in late May, and since then the Brazilian playmaker has
found himself on the field less and less, with the lack of playing time starting to get to Rocha.
